not only sh, basically almost every member could speak and sing in tongue, or at least that was what they thought they could do. And i thought i could too. But when i left chc I've spent time praying and rediscovering my Christianity, and suffice to say God revealed to me that i never had the gift in the first place, thus i no longer speak in tongue now. I was just basically muttering the same gibberish that my ex churmates were uttering.

Now just to clarify, i am not saying everyone from chc is faking tongues. I believe there are good honest Christians who are truly blessed by god with the gift of tongues. But everyone can receive the gift of tongue? I don't think so.

I remember attending a service once long time ago in a church when practically all started speaking weird and weeping. Freaked me out. Learned that they were speaking in tongue. I have heard of it but never encountered it before that. Naturally I stayed far far away from that church.

I have always thought that speaking in tongue is not something that can be learned. You can speak in tongue only when the spirit descends on you right? That was what I was told.

. SH embark on a music career in 2002 thereabout. She attempts breakthrough in America, China n Taiwan markets. Supposedly as part of Xover project.
. Her music career was quite prolific n 'successful' for first five years up to 2007, including releasing 5 Mandarin albums, 4 hits on American Billboard charts n mixing with d right crowd in US.
. Fr 2007 - 2010, money fr church donations were allegedly misappropriated thro' 2 channels to support her faltering music career.
. A scheme was hatched to cover up d alleged misappropriation by scam bonds.
- to date, a total of $50.6 mil was allegedly misappropriated.
. A tip-off got CAD probing n found d evidence to bring d inner circle of five involved to answer charges.

In d aftermath,
. There will be a new book coming to d stores tentatively entitled 'The InFamous Five: Mere mortals don't understand d mystery of God.\" by Whonids Blyton.

Dear Editors,

I am deeply saddened by the reactions of netizens to the arrest of my dearest pastor Kong Hee. As a long time member of City Harvest Church, the public clearly does not understand the sacrifices he had to make in the name of God.

When I first received Sun Ho’s Chinese pop CD in 2003, I thought to myself: “what kind of devil’s music is this?” But as I listened more, it began to dawn on me that I was being overly prudish and she was actually spreading the word of God in the form of Satan-worshipping music to beat the devil at his own game.

Indeed, the more involved I became at the Church, the more I began to understand that I could not even begin to comprehend God’s plan and the plans pastor Kong had for me, and the church. You see, I am but mortal. Pastor Kong was the chosen one.

Without his light shining like a beacon of conscience, the gays, prostitutes, and the opposition would start to take over Singapore. Satan would then have a hub to take over the world.

So it was with deep love that I decided to dedicate 30% of my husband’s salary each month to help fund Sun Ho’s music career as part of the Crossover project.

As a good christian, I have an obligation to The Lord to spread his message: from Singapore to Malaysia, to Taiwan, China and even the town of sin, Hollywood.

It must have been extremely difficult for pastor Kong to see his wife in such disgusting states of undress in public, and for her to live in the heart of the most unholy places on earth, Beverly Hills. I’ve watched the TV series 90210 when I was younger. These people have no morals but like lepers, the Man and Woman of God must go to the sick to heal the sick.

People outside the church don’t understand us and are so quick to condemn when they haven’t experienced God through His music, sung to thumping beats and a negro man saying something intelligible at the beginning.

I do not understand how “China wine” or being a Geisha is related to God’s work, but as I said, I’m only mortal. God has a plan, even when I don’t understand. Even when it involves S$23 million. If pastor Kong was using that money, it must be God’s will.

Jesus preaches forgiveness, and therefore we must forgive even if we don’t want to.

So I forgive the government, and the public for misunderstanding and maligning the Church.

There’s a special place in hell for people who say nasty things about Kong Hee and an even worse one for those that framed God’s chosen workers.

I pray that it will be like Sodom and Gonorrhea.

Can someone gives the non-christians some education on the difference between the different sections of christianity such as methodist, Presbyterian, those who speak in tongues, etc.... why are there different groups within christianity????

No lah. Catholics do not worship Mary. Mary is held in high esteem as a Saint. Revered and honored but not worshipped.

ehh... must clarify this. Catholics worship God, they respect Mary as the mother of Jesus.

To be more specific, Catholics worship the same God as Protestants and acknowledge Jesus Christ as the son on God. The main theological differences between Catholics and Protestants are:
1. Slightly different Old Testament. Protestants decided to abolish a few books in the Old Testament when they broke off from the Catholic Church.
2. Purgatory. One of the main reasons those books are removed from Protestant Bible are the allusion to existence of Purgatory. Catholics believe if they have sinned and unrepentant they might still have a chance to pray and redeem themselves in a place between Heaven and Hell called Purgatory. Protestants do not believe in this and only believe you will be judged either to Heaven or Hell.
3. Praying to saints to intercede on their behalf to God. One of the biggest misconceptions is that many people have, Protestants included, worship the saints. They do not. They can pray to the saints, for example, Saint Mary, to intercede to Jesus, in essence more people (either already dead or alive) praying lar.

I am shocked and disgusted by this letter writer's vehemence as reflected in the bolded sentences. He asked pple to forgive KH and then CURSED those who spoke against KH. How ironic! :slapshead:


Didn't God say in the bible that \"thou shall bless your enemies (persecutors) and not curse them\"? Shame on him! :spank:

It's Christians like him that gave other Christians a bad name.
