Think Dream oso pointed something in the details right? As in the spelling of a certain place being spelt as some STD.

How do you tell it's just a satire and not written by a hard core supporter like that CP in an earlier letter to Chan Chun Sing?

Pray tell me what's in the letter that gave it away, Sir Way? :scratchhead: 😉

Sir Way? As Dream said, dat's pure sarcasm! :rotflmao:
Let's wait for Councillor schweppes reply, think she saw something in d details. 😉

that write wrote : \" I pray that it will be like Sodom and Gonorrhea.\"

Christians know it is \"Sodom and Gomorrah\" and is very very unlike to misquote it as \"Sodom and Gonorrhea\" .......

Gomorrah is a place in ancient Israel / Middle East, Gonorrhea is an STD :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

It may appear that way to non Catholics, but rest assured Catholics do not worship Mary. It's the same thing like how a lot of non-Buddhists think Buddhists actually worship Buddha (I am talking about pure Buddhism, not the rojak Buddhism/Taoism found in Singapore), but instead look towards Buddha as a role model and intercessor.

Bro, I was told d same thing by Catholic priests n brothers when I was young n attended RC churches,
          but let me ask u
why r d Protestants so adamant against d practice of praying to Mother Mary n other saints if its purely intercession?
methink dis opposition to 'worshipping' d Virgin Mary n other saints arose fr one of d ten commandments \" Thou shalt not worship other idols (God?) before ME.\"

Bro, even among Protestants we have so many differences of practices. Of course the most well known now is the pro-prosperity vs anti-prosperity camps. Each camp would argue that their beliefs are the correct ones. Well at least now we are not killing each other because of disagreement over doctrines like the Muslims are doing in Middle East now.

I have witnessed some very very weird beliefs over the years. One example is this, and I am totally not making this up. One of my classmates who was from an independent church said to me that her church did not celebrate Easter. I asked her why? She said it was a demonic holiday. Then I asked her again why did she think so? She said because her church said that the symbol for Easter day is a rabbit. Rabbit is the fastest reproducing animal on earth because it likes to have sex. Hence Easter is a holiday where people will be tempted to stray and have fornication. It sounds totally ridiculous, but the fact is an entire church including its pastors believe in this. I tried of course to reason with her, but at the end of the day, if she does not agree with me, I cannot force my belief on her.

another popular "misquote" : … Pharisee and Sadducees … often misquote as "Pharisee and seducers" … intentional and otherwise.

Dream, that’s a weird and distorted view about Easter, and it’s the first time I’ve ever heard about it.

Btw, I wonder why KH and his wife’s assets are not frozen? In most corruption cases, the assets and accounts of the accused are frozen to prevent them from moving them overseas…and this couple definitely are rich. The papers reported that they stay at Oceanfront@Sentosa Cove…Woah! How many singaporeans can stay in such luxury?

Yes, the first time I've heard it from my friend, I was totally dumbfounded. I laughed at her at first because I thought she was telling me a joke until she insisted she was totally serious about that. Also, I attended their Christmas service (ok, I admit, I was trying to woo this girl :rotflmao:). Believe it or not, the church showed clips from Passion of Christ in their CHRISTMAS service, including the one where Jesus was nailed to the cross. I felt like I just stepped into a real life episode of Twilight Zone. Very weird church, but I guess to each his own.

You mean they celebrate Christ's death but do not celebrate his resurrection?

I recall something like Easter is also a pagan celebration to welcome the arrival of spring. Hence the eggs and the bunny. Could it be because of this?

Yes, they totally did not celebrate the Easter at all, although I told my friend if her church is really against the bunny why not just call it something else, like say Christ Resurrection Day. Actually most Christian holidays have their roots in pagan holidays, the early church just conveniently celebrated important events in Bible together with these holidays.
