Dreamaurora:
And I thought Passion of Christ was rather controversial and not recommended by churches?
Yes, the first time I've heard it from my friend, I was totally dumbfounded. I laughed at her at first because I thought she was telling me a joke until she insisted she was totally serious about that. Also, I attended their Christmas service (ok, I admit, I was trying to woo this girl :rotflmao:). Believe it or not, the church showed clips from Passion of Christ in their CHRISTMAS service, including the one where Jesus was nailed to the cross. I felt like I just stepped into a real life episode of Twilight Zone. Very weird church, but I guess to each his own.Angelight:
Dream, that's a weird and distorted view about Easter, and it's the first time I've ever heard about it.
Btw, I wonder why KH and his wife's assets are not frozen? In most corruption cases, the assets and accounts of the accused are frozen to prevent them from moving them overseas...and this couple definitely are rich. The papers reported that they stay at Oceanfront@Sentosa Cove...Woah! How many singaporeans can stay in such luxury?
Hers not church lah. It's a cult. -

that pastor should go back to bible college and we could have some rabbit stew

I recalled an incident during school days.I have witnessed some very very weird beliefs over the years. One example is this, and I am totally not making this up. One of my classmates who was from an independent church said to me that her church did not celebrate Easter. I asked her why? She said it was a demonic holiday. Then I asked her again why did she think so? She said because her church said that the symbol for Easter day is a rabbit. Rabbit is the fastest reproducing animal on earth because it likes to have sex. Hence Easter is a holiday where people will be tempted to stray and have fornication. It sounds totally ridiculous, but the fact is an entire church including its pastors believe in this. I tried of course to reason with her, but at the end of the day, if she does not agree with me, I cannot force my belief on her.
A new convert in evangelism was trying to win over another classmate (who was a Buddhist).
He couldn't convince d guy n eventually blurted out (something like dis),
\"If u don't believe in Jesus, u will go to hell!\"
d other guy retorted, \"r ur parents Christians?'
d first guy shaked his head.
\"Then they all go to hell lah!\"
dat stumped d new convert n he nvr try to convince d Buddhist guy again.
An unwise shepherd leading a young blur flock without proper guidance can easily lead them astray. -
Dreamaurora:
If she has explained to u by way of Easter following pagan practices,
Yes, they totally did not celebrate the Easter at all, although I told my friend if her church is really against the bunny why not just call it something else, like say Christ Resurrection Day. Actually most Christian holidays have their roots in pagan holidays, the early church just conveniently celebrated important events in Bible together with these holidays.Funz:
You say potehto, I say potahto, you say tomehto, I say tomahto. Who is right who is wrong, we all shall know on the day of reckoning. More importantly is what is in your heart.
You mean they celebrate Christ's death but do not celebrate his resurrection?
I recall something like Easter is also a pagan celebration to welcome the arrival of spring. Hence the eggs and the bunny. Could it be because of this?
it wouldn't be so comical. kekeke -
I remember when Harry Potter was first screened, a colleague went around the office passing our flyers urging all not to watch that show or read the books as it was satanic and it promotes satanic practices. He even went on to telling us that the author was the devil incarnate.
