Having previously lived abroad with my family makes me appreciate this country a lot more. I love Singapore and Iโ€™m thankful to be able to raise my kids here.

And if I may add \"at this time\". I rather not have kids if it was during the jap occupation years... You know?

                Imami:
Aiya, spare you from my long story. In short, I didn't start of with a silver spoon in my mouth when I was born and my parents belonged to the lowest income group. But even during those hard days, I was able to find something to be thankful for.

I am not trying to paint a \"I am a saint\" picture. I just want to bring across the point - having enough and feeling blessed is a state of mind.
                :hugs:
While one with more $ should be more contended and happy, truth is....many are still not cos' they are never satisfied.
Like what Imami said, it is a state of mind ๐Ÿ™‚

I have friends who household income is easily >20K/mth....have assets, does not need to support parents etc....yet they are not contented. More $ = More expensive lifestyle, always complain no money cos' everything want the best ๐Ÿคท

At every stage of my life I will look back and be thankful. If keep on comparing with the have-more/have-better, sure become unhappy. But then, I'll have people calling me bo-chup, lazy, easily satisifed, nuar, no fighting spirit etc..... But I happy can liao lah. :rotflmao:

The more money one earns, the higher his/her expenses. Those needs become โ€˜must-haveโ€™ since person can afford it. There is no end to material wants.

I am contended. Thank goodness I have just 2 kids. Enough to keep me busy and physically tired with their bickering.
Not cash rich nor asset richโ€ฆbut happy. Want to enjoy a good meal at restaurant, can pamper once a while. Cannot compare with those richer but always remind myself we must be contended.

Same, got people say I lazy, bo-chup, no ambition, also. You know, sometimes I feel people make these kinds of criticism because deep down inside them they actually want to be those people they criticize. They are unhappy and they try to make themselves feel better by putting down other people.

But like what you said...I happy can liao lah. :rotflmao: Huat ah.

We do not live for others. So what if people tell me I am just a housewife. As long as I am happy. Some people chase the 5Cs and put others down just bcos they stay in condos. But both husband and wife have to work to be a slave to maintain the condo. What for?

I did think of getting another flat like DBSS. But the cost is way too high. Also, I must like the location.
