Good morning to you too 711mum or should I say Good afternoon now?

I also had one child, everywhere u go, pple will start asking:" One only huh, not enough" the child will be lonely, and self centered when he grows up⦠I quite agree this point as i came across a child with no siblings their house is so much quieter compared to those with siblings, u can hear the sound of laughter and screaming from far away.

Hello everyone

I have only 1 son who is 6 years old. It was not until this year that I suddenly thought to myself \"what if\" I had another silbing for him. I wonder why I only thought of this now and not earlier.
Even if I want another child, it wont be so easy as age is catching up not young anymore haiz
Did anyone ever think this way like me. When I see my son playing alone, I think my son can be a good elder brother to his silbings. Why I never give him a chance to be a elder brother haha...
Sorry very emotional these days .. -
Hi Blessedwife,
I understand perfectly your feelings. I also have one child only and got asked by alot of insensitive questions like \"when are you going to have second one?\", \"Don't stop at one, the only child very poor thing\" etc etc...
And these questions usually came from those who have 2 or more kids. They do not and will never understand that NOT everyone are blessed with several kids like them. I've since grown a thick skin and tried not to let such comments affect me.
Sometimes I do feel a little sad when my girl asks for a baby sibling. But I don't want to let my thoughts dwell on what I don't have, but instead focus on what I'm blessed with - my darling daughter. If God will bless me with another child, I praise Him. If not, life goes on.
Hope my sharing is some comfort to you...Blessedwife:

Hi Blessedwife, when I had my DS I thought I only wanted one child as I was not confident to care for baby. I was happy with my decision for a few years. My DS & DH were happy too. When my DS was 4, I starts to think of having a second kid but DS & DH objected so I just pushed it aside.Hello everyone

When my DS turned 7, he envy others who has siblings & asked for one. I was too busy with work so told him we c how. When I was ready, he changed his mind again that having siblings will reduce my love for him.
Now my DS already 11+, taking his PSLE this year... I seriously doubt that I can survive with a new BB.
Think I will stay put & have only one child. Guess it's better than none.

Hi Angelight and Flowermonaster

Yes yes we can all relate to this topic \"why dont we have 2nd one, only 1 child very boring for him/her\" hee...
Actually since I have just quit my job to become a SAHM, I feel if I have a 2nd one it would be a good choice for me since most days I will have plenty of time (apart from cooking and doing light household chores).
It's just the age gap that I am worried of. My son is already 6 yo so if another bb comes along wow the age gap is quite big. I wanted a girl to dress her up
Anyway, to be blessed with another child or not is beyond our control since I don't belong to the fertile group and age is catching up.
Are both of you working or SAHM ? We can chat more often
By the way I stay at the West side how about u ladies ? -
Blessedwife:
I also SAHM, stay North-west. Most of time I bake bread for breakfast, cook lunch/dinner & clean house. This year slightly more busy as DS PSLE. Think U will be busier when ur boy goes P1. I also wanted a gal but too bad no chance Liao. Console myself that I don't have to spent a bomb for clothing & accessories since boy don't need so much & I won't be so tempted to buy this & that whenever I go shopping unlike gals. There r so much pretty things for gals but not boys. Hahaha.Hi Angelight and Flowermonaster

My daughter has been asking for a baby sister more often these days. She is 6 and I guess she is feeling lonely.

At least she is consistent. Mine asked for a baby brother on Monday. Tuesday came and suddenly he decided a baby sister would be a better option. Then Wednesday, he changed his mind again - a di di better. :slapshead: -
Imami:
Hahaha! Mine was consistent in the gender of his to-be-sibling(didi) The inconsistent part was one year he wants, the other year he don't want.1amber:
