All About Parent Volunteers (PV)

Hi yokogi, not trying west grove?

yokogi:
Last year, was ballot within 1km for all SC and PR... Y not enrol ur child in P2A2 1st then monitor Frontier for P2C? :roll:Hi mummy of 3, with this year's priority given to SC, those staying within 1km still need to ballot?
Hi qms, yes i have difficult decision to make. If i can get into Frontier with very high chance, i would volunteer as i do not wish to relocate even though i have 100% chance at Rosyth (my hubby is old boy). I am staying very close to my mum right now. If Frontier needs to ballot for SC < 1km and chances are much lower, i will have no choice but to relocate to Serangoon. -
can i check if the chances are the same for those who did PV (within 1 km distance) and those who without PV (within 1 km)? sorry i am new in this. how early can we apply for PV before the official registration? my child is 2 yrs + this year..sorry i sound ks..:D

Assuming you are only comparing PVs and non-PVs,
PV - Phase 2B
non-PV - Phase 2C
The pool of applicants in Phase 2B is usually smaller than in Phase 2C. Hence, your chance in P2B will be relatively higher than in P2C.
Should you be unsuccessful in P2B, you still have another chance at the school in P2C. -

Hi mummy of 3, my friend suggested that too. However, need my hubby to be at Rosyth on the last day of P2C to drop our registration at Rosyth before I can register at Fronter right? Do you know if this is instant - drop Rosyth register Frontier? I donno if this will cause hiccup to the enrolment or not resulting in no-school status for my gal. -
Out of curiosity, are there still popular schools out there taking in applications for PV for kids born in 2007?
Some schools have later closing dates, or more flexible about the application. i've checked some and they still take in. Of course popular schools would have closed application already. Since it's July already, some may have started allocating PV duties, so if you're keen in the school, have to call and ask or check the website. As long as they didn't put the closing date, it's still worth to find out. -
I have just missed the dateline (1 july 2012) to register in PVS for my doter enrolment in year 2014 in order to be eligible for phase 2B. Call up the school and blankly turned down by sch staff and it is not even a top school. I just missed the dateline by few days but staff says rule is set by MOE. Has anyone ever appeal? The neighbourhood school is within < 1km but historically phase 2C always ballot. My estate is heavily dense esp there’s a huge condo estate just newly built near it. So chances of my doter getting in is very slim. Anyone ever apeal to MOE???

PV not administer by MOE, the school principle have the 'sole' discretion.
Try to talk to the VP or P ASAP and or go to the school personally with completed application form. -
Can anyone share about the possible/usual qns asked during the interview? Other than looking for good contribution ideas and being able to complete the required hours, what else would the school look for?
