      Hi Dream,

You have my utmost respect. After hearing all these negativity about CHC, you have showed us what Christianity is all about.

I do not think you owe Mr Poon an apology. If anyone is to apologise, should be the one who had spoken to Poon and forced/coaxed/convinced him to retract his statement and issue the apology.

If Mr Poon has moved on, so should you. However, if Mr Poon decided to take a civil suit against CHC for damages (his reputation and the 5 figure sums on the apologies), I would think that you should then come forward.

Not everything needs to be in black and white now. After this case is over, the credibility of Kong Hee and gang will be in doubt if they are found guilty. Anything you can offer as a witness will further help Mr Poon in winning civil suit.

Hope to see more Christians like you.

Yes, also do continue to engage us in this discussion (even though you can leave out the privy details if you're uncomfortable with it), as I feel I learn alot from your posts. 😄

Agree with both AC_Power and Lilac66.. I too have learnt so much from this discussion. Your representation... in delivering your thoughts and calmingly explaining to all of us here, the religion you represent... is very enlightening (to me personally). :hugs: Definitely clearer as well than the stuff I've heard from other followers. However, i believe all religions teach ppl to do good. Thanks for this..

            .
IMHO It is wiser as a Christian that Mr. Poon not to decide to take civil suit against CHC, although CHC was wrong to threaten him with lawsuit (if this is true).
            1 Corinthians 6:1-7.
... is it possible that there is nobody among you wise enough to judge a dispute between believers? But instead, one brother takes another to court—and this in front of unbelievers ! The very fact that you have lawsuits among you means you have been completely defeated already. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated?...

But if an innocent brother or sister is wrongly accused in court, i believe we need to come foward as witness if we are in a such position that able to disprove the false allegation. my two cents 🙂

Concerned parents of City Harvest youths turn up for service

“I’m still okay with my son going for service at CHC – he’s grown up and it’s his choice, but I was worried when I found out you could make donations through credit card – he uses our supplementary card and I’m not comfortable with him donating to a church that I personally wish was more accountable,” said a bank executive, 56, who wanted to be known as Mr Lim.

                http://www.cbn.com/spirituallife/churchandministry/Grady_Hagan_ProsperitY.ASPX

Brother Hagin’s exhortations about financial integrity, quoted of Plans, Purposes, & Pursuits (Copyright ©1988):

Never put money first! The first time the Lord appeared to me, He told me, “Be careful about money. Many upon whom I’ve placed my Spirit and called to the ministry have become money-minded, and have lost the anointing.” We don’t want to become money-minded and lose the anointing of God on our lives! (page 13)

                quote from The Midas Touch:

During my more than sixty-five years of ministry, I have often dealt with the issue of prosperity for believers, insistently emphasizing a balanced, scriptural approach. I have observed many teachings and practices that have both helped and hindered the Body of Christ. I have seen some faith men of God stay the course, and move accurately with the truth of the Word and the Spirit, resulting in great blessing for a host of believers. Unfortunately, I have also seen many others become side-tracked by extremism, ultimately shipwrecking their ministries and hurting and disillusioning many people in the process. (excerpt taken from the Introduction, page xiii, subsection Finding Balance Between Extremes)

                Thanks for this, blessed777,

Kenneth E. Hagin is my favourite author and I read his books extensively. I have read both the above books mentioned and it is a timely reminder of the power of money and the frailty of man.

Wow!....everyone should hear this. Really \"enlightening\". Enlighten to the Greed being preached!

KH put it into such a context that ONLY when you give to God, ONLY then you will get back something from Him. Wow! Wow! Wow!! It is as if God will only HEAR you when you give money......Is he saying sincere prayer takes second, third, fourth, fifth, etc...... place??

                      Hi all,

I am an "outsider" so-to-speak from CHC and only heard of this Mr Poon from this forum. But from what I read so far, I would think this whole "blow-up" is already justification enough for whatever wrong he has suffered, albeit 10 years later.

I would think he did not feel good at all having spoken out, subsequently retracted and apologised publicly. I would also think it will break his heart to hear now of this bad news. I don’t think he will rejoice in this justification, if anything it would be a bitter disappointment for him that his previous accusation was "true".

Anyway, just my 2-cents worth, I wish Mr Poon very well wherever he is now.

This thing about tithing through credit card. The bible said to give one-tithe from the first of all your produce. Seems a bit contradictory to be tithing through credit card ie. giving from what you don't have yet..... :?
