Helplessmum, I agree that most of the Kkh therapy is actually am assessment. Though not helpful but u still need to go since u hv no private alternative.

I stop weecare for him as I feel his progress there is a bit stagnant and I need new methods to teach him. I bring him to leapfrog, one hr $110. No more money for myself.

Chibi, I really admire your energy. I hope I can be like u when my boy goes P1 and my biggest wish is for him to survive mainstream. I think this is the biggest wish fir all mummies here.

which branch of leapfrog you going? i can be spending $31x10 = 310 can pay leapfrog 3 lessons. but the 10 lesson w kkh may lead no where or only equavilent to 1 lesson os leapfrog.. maybe i shld do these calculation...

      u know what i mean?

Ytd i talk to my hub about pri school for my son, he say he already prepare himself, if he din mke it 😞

      btw, did you compare dynamics?

hi doubleE, whats EIPIC? no, the doc @ kkh refer my son to HPB for speech therapy.

helplessmum-yes, i brought my son to kkh child development dept.

yesterday i found out from a teacher that my son was bullied in school, thats why he started screaming & crying these 2weeks. the teacher said she has already seperate away the ones who bully my son but now my son has another behaviour problem, those kids whom he dislike, sit beside him, he will scream in anger, even some kid who just accidently touch him, he also scream in anger. i already corrected him, told him he cannot always scream when he is angry. haiz... :frustrated:

Could it just be a phase since he’s still so young? He’s just dealing with the situation the only way he knew how. Perhaps u can teach him what to do next time he sees someone he doesn’t like. Redirect that attn elsewhere. Maybe u can read up on anger management and see if there’s any suggestions on what can be done. He does look like he has a lot of anger on him. Probably the bullying made him feel helpless and screaming is just a protection mechanism.

he has been screaming since he was an infant, i tink abt 8mths start to scream when he is angry. that time we can assumed that he is still young but now he is already 3yrs old, this is also a age where kids his age will snatch toys with each other & starts the bullying thing(which worried me), we already told him he cannot scream in anger, my MIL scolds him when he screams & he will calm down & keep quiet. we tried the hard approached, scold him when he screams, he screamed even louder :frustrated: so now when he screams, i will asked him Y, if he is able to tell me y he is angry through actions still not so bad but most of the times he is unable to tell me y & thats why he expressed through screaming. so what i ve to do is redirect him to other things that will calm him down.

my hubby said since our son only started walking at 16mths, we assumed he might be a late bloomer, who knows one fine day he will also start talking. we are still waiting for this day ...

                mummyjane,

EIPIC is early intervention programme for kids who are delayed. If the KKH doc didn’t refer your boy to EIPIC, then maybe he is not delayed except for speeh, so that’s good news in a sense. IF you want to find out more, ask the KKH doc the next time u see him/her and ask whether your boy needs EIPIC.

Mummies who have older kids, can I ask when your kid is younger like 3-4 years old, are they scared of being blind folded? My boy is and according to his OT, normal kids will not fear because apart from eyes, they should know how to use their body to manipulate. But my boy depends alot on visual to guide him, that’s why if we blindfold him, he felt insecure.

Haiz…and the OT suggest we do brushing for him every two hours. But how to when we are working parents and he is in full day childcare? Did your kids do brushing when they were younger?

he's not talking at all.he expressed himself through screaming/crying. he's quite sensitive. even when his meimei touches his toy car, he gets angry & scream. if he doesnt want something, he will shake his head, but if he wants something, he doesnt know how to say it, he just scream lor. now the problem with him is he doesnt want to talk at all :frustrated:

                      Mummyjane,

apart from talking and screaming issues, did u observe any other issues about him? eg, does he like messy play? does he has eye contact?

I think is good for u to call the Kkh doc about EIPIC
