          Hi Steadyberry,

          Thank you for your advise.

When is it changing to full day session? I heard from other mummies that Woodgrove gives a lot of home work, is it true?

            Hi fragaria

Did not rec any news about changing to single session so far. For lower primary, not always a lot of homework. The recent 1 mth sch holiday, my ds has no homework at all except home based learning which won’t take up a lot of time. During school term, then it depends on the form teacher I think. My son’s ft prefer to build foundation so my ds’s class is slower than other classes meaning more homework as students did not finish work in classroom. Whereas my neighbor’s ft moved very fast.

I hv no comment on whether fast is better than slow or vice versa but at the end of the day, the child must know and understand the stuff they learnt. So do u intend to enrol yr child in woodgrove? There were some chgs between last yr p1 & this yr’s p1, maybe due to the new principal. The format of the tests had chg. Last yr my ds didn’t get any progress report after his sa1 but this yr, was surprised to rec 1 when the sch reopened last wk. So good in a way that u know how yr child is doing after half a yr.

              Hi Steadyberry,

Yes, I intend to enrol my child in woodgrove, but i am staying more than 2km, so need to do PV. Now i have another problem is transport. I am worrying my girl need to spend a lot of time in the journey. I am staying at the at blk 6xx.

                Hi fragaria

I’m staying in blk 6XX too, within 1-2km. MY P1 boy goes to Dedicated sch care 601 & goes to sch with the van transport. You may also check with the sch for the public transport provided as well.
So far I think the homework are ok & manageable for P1.
                Rgds.

                  Hi Fragaria

I stay in blk 50x so I hv no issue with traveling time or transport. My ds’s classmate stays in admiralty. He boards the bus around 10+. Not sure how long is his journey to school though but 10+ is considered early to me. So chk first.

                    Hi ckhoo5

What do u think of the maths ca1 & sa1? To me the ave mark for the whole cohort is quite low for p1 std. For 1 of the classes, the ave mark is only 50+. What is the ave of yr child’s class?

                      Hi Steadyberry

My son loves math, so he has no problem coping with P1 math yet.
Where do u see the ave mark is 50+ & which class? I saw my son result slip, the p1 level for math mean was 63.4, std dev is 24.4. Not sure what it really means though.

                        Hi ckhoo5

My friend showed me the results of her son. His class ave is 50+ and cohort is 60+. think her son is either in 1b or 1d. Whereas another class has 70+ for ave mark if I remember correctly. It is good that yr ds loves maths. Usually those who are strong in maths will get into the top 2 classes.
