Appreciate some advise between NanHua PS and Nanyang PS, both scored equally good on academics but hope to hear more feedback.

My home distance to NHPS is within 1km whereas abt 4km to NYPS but we will send/fetch our child to school daily. Thanks.

Balloting takes place for those who stay within 1km of nanyang. Since you stay within 1 km of nan hua, go for it.

      I will register under P2B.
NYPS P1 end of Day1 is only 132, if no major changes in P2A1 and 2 compared to previous years, then I believe those staying more than 2km stands pretty good chance as well.
NHPS have student care so most probably go for NH.
Tired of 3boys in the house during daytime.

If you are fetching your child, Go for Nanyang.. But Nanyang is a very highly sought after school unless one of the parent was x student or PV.. If you go for 2C, my guess is no chance at all because you are 4 km to the school. Hope my 5 cent advise help. Go read up the parent network forum for the 2 schools to know more about the schools.

Needless to say, go for Nanyang! (if u have good chance to get in).

Hi I am new to this forum. Can anyone tell me more about Marymount Convent and CHIJ Our Lady of Good Counsel (OLGC)?

I was a former student of OLGC so my DD can get into OLGC at Phase 2A(2) but her chances of getting into Marymount at Phase 2C may not be too low either so I can't decide which of the 2 schools to register her in.

            Any opinions/comments?
I have replied to this same question over at the OLGC thread.

                  mummy of three:
All my children are in neighborhood schools, but they are top students. So being in a “branded” school doesn’t matter.

If kids are in non branded school, teachers there could be doing more as compared to those in branded ones. Principal could also be more hands-on and get HODs to compile notes for students, prepare them for PSLE earlier too.

Well say.. This is one of the reason I'm not going for the 2A2 phrase of the registration next week at RGPSand wait for the 2C phrase at Horizon Pri. Of cause distance is any major factor in my consideration.

Yes there can be top students from neighbourhood schools but there are only a handful. I would still rather send to a school with more students scoring >250 than a school with only 1 or 2 scoring >265 then the rest <240.

Guess this is the reason why there are still many parents chasing after that branded school.

Those students in branded schools scoring >250 would have tuition.
