Just curious, are you a parent or PSLE student?

You seem to be asking questions based on questions posted earlier by others.

In questions on Speed, it’s really helps to start with a simple diagram.

They met each other after the car had travelled 3/4 of the journey.

Divide the distance line into 4 parts.

The car travelled 6 units and the van travelled 5 units during the same period.

Hence, 1 part ------ 6 units

4 parts ------ 24 units

This gives 13 units (24-6-5) -------195

2) A school is staging a play to raise funds for an orphanage. The tickets for this fundraising charity play are priced at $10 and $5. The number of ten dollar ticket available is 1 1/2 times the number of five dollar tickets. 5/6 of the ten dollar tickets and 3/4 of the five dollar tickets were sold. The tickets sales amt to $ 5850. How much more funds will the school be able to raise if all tickets sold ?

Dan ----- 140 units

Bran ----- 100 units

Dan and Bran each gave 20% of their stickers to Calvin.

Dan ----- 28 units

Bran ----- 20 units

As a result, Calvin's stickers increased by 80%.

80% ------ 48 units (28+20)

100% ----- 60 units

Hence, Calvin’s original ----- 60 units.

Calvin’s final units ------ 108 units (60+48)

Dan had 20 more stickers than Calvin in the end.

Dan’s final units ------ 140 – 28 ----- 112

112 – 108 ----- 4

4 units ----- 20

1 unit ----- 5

Bran's stickers@first ------ 100*5 ------ 500

One more question.

The numbers of egg in box C is 16 more than 1/2 of the total numbers of eggs in box A and box B, if 25% of the eggs in box C were broken and removed, there were 804 more eggs in box B than in box C. Ravi sold each egg at 8 cents. How much did he earn ?

Box C (removed) ----- 2 units + 4

Box C (left) ----- 6 units + 12

There were 804 more eggs in box B than in box C.

10 units – (6 units + 12) ------ 804

1 unit ----- 204

Number of eggs sold ------ 22 units + 12 ------ 4500

Ravi sold each egg at 8 cents

4500*8 ------ $360.
