The dots I tried on the computer are sequential, 1 - 50, so I can do it. But those with formula, I can't too :oops:

Just to share with you:
My boy was with Shichida, when he was 1.5 year, for 1 year before we withdrew him and taught by ourselves. We were amazed by their teachings . It is not the expectations of having the kid with ESP, super-reading skills, memorising skills or even able to speak 3 different foreign languages by going to Shichida class.

It is what as parent, what did you do after the class.
Shichida serves as an enrichment for 60 mins, it is the extra 5 mins/day you do with your child that counts. And that’s what Mrs Khoo said too, you do not expect a super-brain kid, it is not right to stress your child in getting that right answer for a particular question, it is by praising your child on the efforts that is important in building up the child’s confidence.

Here’s what I did:
I drew my own flashcard series, flashed flashcards nightly. Did the Shichida homework religiously and we played telepathy games. We read 4 books nightly, to a max of 16 books per night. Now, we do lots of work together and I find myself spending like 15-30 mins every night just to do his work with him.

Going to Shichida class gives you an edge in that, it exposes the child to reading things at fast speed, linking pictures that helps the brain to get wired better, exposing you to different frequencies in various languages. Shichida believes in exposing frequencies, so it’s okay to speak in any dialect or language to the child. It is the exposure that counts, not whether your child is able to speak french or spanish after the lesson.

My boy speaks 3 languages easily and I’m trying to teach him Japanese. Has lack of resources in finding japanese materials in Singapore. So, I can’t teach him Japanese easily when he was younger.

The parents were amazed how come my boy (only 1.5 then) could sit still in class for the 60 mins while theirs scream and cry. They were amazed how come he could sit and concentrate throughout the flashcard process. And I did not mention that he was able to get all the ESP games correct every lesson. I handed in my homework every quarter to the Shichida teacher, I spent time as a parent to flash flashcards with my boy. Many parents from the class what I did to my boy, so I said I basically repeated what the teacher did during class at home.

Now he’s 5, he writes very well and has very high concentration skills. And sometimes, he surprises me by asking me if this/that is on my mind. He’s highly matured too so I can’t tell him white lies easily. He loves to complete his daily assignments and is thrilled when I reward him with story-reading because he finished his homework. I’ve switched him to flashcard flashing (with both English and Japanese) through the computer that I’ve created. And his progress is tremendous.

I took him out of Shichida after 1 year not because it is not good, but I’ve created a little-Shichida for him back at home after I’ve realised the gist of right-brain program.

Hi winth, thanks for sharing your experience with Shichida. I think you hit the nail on the head, that enrichment courses for young children are really meant for PARENTS to learn and assimilate within the home environment. There is really no need to continue with the programme after you have learnt the ropes and have successfully integrated it within your child's home regime.

Agree with winth and CKS that importance is in us parents learning from course and integrating what was teach into our parenting routine.


My boi though is one of the restless one in class…and I find that it is very true that it is a matter of whether we practice at home with them. He is noticeably more restless in activities that I don’t do with him and usually performs well in things we practice together.

You are right too.
I’m very ashamed to say that up till now, I’ve been unable to instill the ‘linking memory’ part of the program into my daily regime with my boys.

My boys can’t wait for the linking memory portion to be over before they continue with the Shichida Class. Now I’m attending Shichida with my 18 month old.

And you know what, everytime the teacher says it’s ‘linking memory time’, I was secretly sighing away and wish that this part of the program can just ‘chop chop finish’. Guess I was the culprit that the boys didn’t like linking memory afterall.

Hi parents, I'm very amaze with this Shichida method of learning. I do not have any children right now and I already planning what to give them when they arrive (getting marry next yr). \"see I more kiasu then anyone of you\" :lol:


Although, I do not have any of my own children but I do have a darling nephew at home, coming to 9 months, upon seeing him growing up I also worry bcos my brother and wife totally dont care. No training No plan etc... Little nephew only interested in putting those books in the mouth that I bought for him.

And bringing him out for Shichida class with me is not a good idea as my mother (his grandmother) worrys for his safely etc blar blar....

So, I'm interested in learning this Shichida method so that I can teach him at home and at the same time maybe I can become a Shichida teacher one day. Have been searching for the whole day like where I can learn it but no avail. Anyone know?

Hi, what a caring aunty you are. My girl is in Shichida. But through the forums I discover the GD method which is similar to Shichida and have publication stating clearly how to go about doing home practice.


Maybe its a good starting point for you?

You can borrow the books from National Library. I usually reserve the books cos they are very popular.

The author is Glenn Doman.

He has a few book… How to teach your baby read? How to teach your baby maths etc etc…

personally I'm a tutor myself and hence I know how important it is to educate a child since 0 yr old. But seem like its only me in the family that understand that, which then causes me to have difficultly in helping the little nephew.

To me learning this Shichida method is an upgrad to my career as a tutor and at the same time providing the best to little nephew, so I think the \"paper\" is important. And my little nephew is my first shichida guinea pig. :lol:

I will grab the book by Glenn Doman to get start first and at the same time will hunt around for school to learn this Shichida thingy.

Shichida is hiring trainers. You can visit their website at http://www.shichidamethod.com and send in your cv. And I think from what you have shared, you should be able to get in for their job interview. But bearing in mind that they work from Wednesdays to Sundays.

Think they pay good bonuses too, up to 9 months. But suspect the basic salary might be quite low.

Pls don't get offended, I really think you are a very good aunty but it is really up to the parents to decide what goes best for the child. And your brother and sis-in-law might not be able to appreciate what you want to do for your nephew. Might end up having to fight off negative opinions and face criticisms.

Your nephew is now at input stage (= lots of inputs required, but won't give you any output...) as he is still very young, so you won't see any progress from him until he's like 2 year old.
