Based on last year, had to ballot for both ACSJ and ACSP within 1km.
Hmm.. Correct me if I am wrong but ACJS last year at phase 2C, ballot withint 1km. Phase 2B no chane to ballot at all for greater than 2km. many condos came up around ACJS area from new projects launch in the past. Competition will be much stiffer. Also, more parents may think they can try for ACJS because now SC have priority over PR so people who previously have not considered ACJS might be trying for Phase 2B and Phase 2C. With greater hopeful applicants( from new condos), data may skew this year. With new regulations, previous years data may not be valid as a predictor anymore. I guess we wait and see.

Agree with you lilfeets, past year data no longer useful already. The most useful being 2012 data and then the dynamics has totally changed from the previous 3 years. So competitive now even in phases previously can get in now need to ballot!
For those totally without any priority (ie. siblings and alumni), the next best phase would be P2B and religion affiliated (because no PV scheme at ACS!). Even at this phase, must be within 1 km to have chance to ballot if necessary. [No wonder some ksp has made big ticket move!].
For phase 2C, same thing, within 1 km have chance to ballot if necessary. Those alumni and siblings phases are somewhat consistent year-on-year. So change in dynamics in P2B and 2C.
If I were a citizen and without any priority for the earlier phases, I will try this year. Why not? No harm trying. If fail just wait for MOE to post to the one nearest to house la!
[Btw, I am not making a flippant remark with my last sentence. For me our surrounding schools are not in high demand, so even if we wait for MOE to post will also post to these schools. So why not try for those high demand school and hope for the best?] :siam: -
Hi.. I agree. no harm trying but not everyone can deal with opes being dashed
I think it is not difficuklt to be in phase 2B. If KSP can move house to get into range, what more could they not do. I know of people who would get baptised just to get Phase 2B! PR can get into phase 2B just by merit of church affliation. SC priority only kicks in if there are ballot. how sad is that?? -
For me, P2B is difficult. Why? How to change church when one is already committed in existing church? Got to change denomination somemore!
Mmm....so shall we encourage more citizens to apply please? So if application more than vacancies, ALL citizens will be able to get in? -
Yeah. That is true.
I doubt if more citizens apply, it will be better. I thin for schools like ACPS and ACJS, the number of citizens apply in phase 2B and 2C far outeighs the PRs. Data as it is don't show much hope unless early phases and must be within 1 km for chance to ballot only i think. with more ctiizens buying new housing near both schools, i wonder if the game play has changed regardless of the SC priority?
ah well... God's will

It would be better if they could disclose the number of PR and Singaporean registered last year, 2011 for phase 2B and 2C or rather all the phases. Do you think they will disclose this year registeration? I would not be surprised if the data showed more PR application than Singaporean!

Hmm... Dotheyhave this data? I am sure if they had that, KSP would have posted it already otherwise we cannot be called Kiasu! :rotflmao:
On serious note, do we have that data? -
Whatever it is, since the new policy kicks in this year, I think schools will need to show such SC and PR data this year before balloting for SCs to feel that they are really bring prioritized and for PRs to pull out if they think their chances are low.

I wish that they can share the past data this year. By the time they show the data for this year, it is too late for me as I will be registering this year. so sad... :gloomy: -
I will say for those who have not PVed, or aiming for other popular schools, nothing to lose, donβt take the results too seriously, am a citizen and methodist, living within reasonable distance to ACS, to try this year (and next year).
If get it well and good. If donβt get it, have a 2nd and 3rd choice ready. Or be ready to let MOE post. "Thy will be done!".
