2012 P1 Registration Exercise for 2013 In-Take

Wah,62 registered today out of 98 vacancies for HPPS! :yikes:
Somehow I feel that this yr the competition seemed stiffer. -
Ribena48:
Hi Ribena-I will be nervous cos it seem very little chance for you.
You have very good chance, don't worry. If everyone like you going to register on 2nd day, then most of us will be near to heart attack on day 2 because we are all hoping the number will not change much after day one. To be nervous over 119 seats is unnecessary lah....Lukeysmummy:
The school of my choice has 119 vacancies for 2(A)2, I called today and 60 have registered. I have this feeling it will go to ballot. If that happens I will withdraw since I live more than 10 km from the school. Can anyone advise if this is a good idea? I understand that if lets say 120 or 121 kids apply for 119 places, management may take in all to save on balloting procedure ... can anybody confirm?
Thanks much
59 left for 2nd day P2A2, the school must be popular school.
Be it in 2B or 2C, you are out of range especially since looking at current popularity of your choice school.
For such popular school, it will never be 120 over 119 for P2A2 and other subsequent phases. At 2B, it will over subscribed, same for 2C. -

I think if its just exceed by 1, they will go without balloting.[/quote]2 years ago, RGPS exceed by 2, they also need to ballot.
Hmm.. My understadning is that we go by distance. If a;; 121 kids for that 119 places are n teh same distance category and also all are SC, then even if exceed by 1 application, all must ballot. Anyone else have a different understanding, please help enlighten.lilfeets:

If u are registrating under P2A2, then no worries. -
mummy of 3:
Depends on school. Most schools will ballot.

NYPS has a history of being more flexible in this area -
My kid is SPR but I am SC. We live <300 m of Rosyth. What are his chances if he is to register under 2C. Alternatively Xinmin is next (1-2km) followed by Hougang PS (1-2km). What are the odds of getting Rosyth or other schools

IMHO, chances are slim for Rosyth, probably will not even have chance to participate in ballot. -

No chance at all for all these 3 schs if it required balloting -
Would appreciate some advice here…
I am aiming for SCGS under ph2B but am outside of 2km. Looking at the vacancies left for SCGS now (200 vacancies - 62 under ph1 - 48 under ph2A(1) - 28 under ph 2A(2) today)…I am a bit nervous that ph 2B would require balloting and I don’t stand a chance.
Alternatively I can aim for RVPS under ph2B and am within 1km. What is the best strategy I can adopt? Is it safe to still try SCGS under ph2B and if unsuccessful then try RVPS under ph2C since I am within 1km?
Also between RVPS and St Margaret, which sch is better?
Thanks!!! -
BubbleT:
Any typo above? Are you referring rgps instead of rvps because you said you qualify for phase2B and rvps & scgs are from different Grc.Would appreciate some advice here...
