Now they go to different classes for chinese class. Not sure why they do that.. And I don't have details of the new chinese teacher now. Anyone with same problem?

dunno whether this info still relevant to you ...
havent been active here since ...

anyway, P1s different classes for CL2 = streaming

i'm for it actually ... think it's good for both teachers and students
now at least the CL2 class can learn at more or less the same pace ...
if u think abt it, this of cos doesnt mean that those weaker in this subject will fall further behind ... the CL teacher is now able to set the pace instead of having stragglers who eventually lose interest when they cant catch up with the rest of the class prior to streaming ...

        Hi,

I am new here. Want to ask anybody know What different between
St de la salle and st gabriel? Is it true st gabriel more relax and
Less pressure for kids? Currently i am staying at west area and
plan to move to north east 2-3 years later on, and yet to decide
put my kid to school nearby north east or put here first then transfer
Later on. Do anybody has experienced transfer to another school?
What is the procedure? If i reg at st gabriel, The distance will be too far.
And My dd will need to wake up 5:00 am. Really tough. Please advise, thanks

          Suryadt,

When is your girl P1? If still 2-3yr n not decide, get somewhere nearly. Is very tire for them if travel distance is far. Plus there is lot of homework for DLS. Like it or not, lot of home => better chance to get higher grade. u may decide to get tuition later which is tougher to allocate time.

If u thinking of ok ok school, then put in any west and move to any east school will not be much diff. Now my girl take school bus from CCK, she already need wake up 545 in order to catch bus

              Hi,

for my son this year enrollment. agreed with you, most probably with register here first then move to other school later on. But the problem is
we don't know the prefer school still have vacancy or not later on. seem like DD has alot homework start from which level? is it P2? You mean DD is consider good school among CCK area? Thanks

My view is in CCK, South view is best. This link might help.

What is good depends on your criteria. If its based on top PSLE student then I think South View is better.

Heard South View used rote learning so I heard from my colleague that she decided against South View as it will stifle her childโ€™s creativity.

Paulyn is right. It depends on your criteria.

It also depend on attitude and effort that child n u put in. Same school, same teacher, grade between top and bottom is a big gap. A named good school is not a guarantee of future.

SV is not based on rote learning. If you attend their openhses or go to their site on the programs offered by the schs, you'll c a balance of both academic & non academic eg performing arts, sports etc which really enhances the students creativity. Each year the sch will stage a musical, this yr's just ended last wk.

My boy is in SV and is enjoying his various dance lessons, drama etc which parents are invited to watch. Of course, when exam period comes....there'll be lots of revision paper. I think, the sch really practise...work hard, play hard ๐Ÿ™‚

I'm sure DLS has lots of their own programs too which develops the potential of their students.
