How to save electricity?

Talking about fans, can someone help me – not sure if it is my imagination but I think my wall fan is not as effective as before. initially, power 1 is good enough. After two years, power 1 like cannot make it, need power 2. Recently, I realise power 2 also like not good enough… haven’t ‘upgrade’ to power 3 yet, cos I find it too noisy. Is there such thing as deterioration in performance when it comes to fan? Like power 1 cannot make it already?

I supposed the effectiveness deteriorate over the yrs, but certainly not noticeable after just 2 yrs.
Perhaps how that the weather has 'cooled' down, u will find it OK again.

Got one installed in one room, either a Mit or KDK. Find the wind noise rather high even at low speed.fightingmom:

Do you clean it..? :evil:
Dust, particles build up could introduce friction and making the fan \"less easy to turn\".
Especially for the bearings.
Your fan may draw more power to turn at the same speed, or, draw same power and turn at reduced speed.. due to extra need to overcome friction.. How it works, depends on the circuitry of the fan.. so can't comment.. -

I was just wondering if my electricity consumption is within acceptable level. I used to have a maid who will mop the house on Alternate days (or at least that was what she claimed) and used to iron all the clothes. She even hand washed some of our clothes. Back then I also cook every wkends. Yet my bill was hovering around $120. When my maid left abt a yr back I thot my bill wil lower. But on the contrary, it’s ranges between 140-150 now. I dun mop like her, may be only once a wk and I dump all the clothes into the washing machine. I dun cook over the wends jus pack fr my mil. I have also outsourced majority of the ironing. So is it jus me or is it living cost has increased? Can dear forumers pls share your experience.
