My son has completed his first semester at this school. Comparing this with the non-neighbourhood school that my daughter attends:

        * My son’s form teacher teaches most of the subjects, whereas my daughter has different teachers for almost all of her subjects
        * The MTL teachers are equally annoying in both schools
        * Spelling in my son’s school is a joke: the words for some of the weeks were easier than what he got in kindy! Can you believe he actually got three-letter words to spell?
        * The Maths and English worksheets seem easier than what my daughter got too. Strange since all schools follow the same syllabus. Sad because my son is smart and needs more mental challenges. But what to do? This is the only school we could get in to.
        * The SFE programme is good though. My son enjoys them. He brings home little things he makes for special occasions like for CNY, Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day.

                Dear All,

My elder daughter studied in Smps and just registered my son to this school. Would like to know more parents with kid(s) currently or will be in the school. Hope this thread can be more active and hope the school can be more vibrant. Many thanks…

                  Dear Xuanyun,

My son is in P1 at this school. It’s a good school in a good location. There’ll be an orientation in November. Please do attend it because the principal and teachers give very good information. Lots of material is given out, important things like what to bring on the first day and activity kits for parents and children to do together at home during the year-end school holidays.

My daughter is studying at SMPS too. You mean St Margaret’s Primary right? Because Stamford’s initials at SPS.

                    Dear Jacsplace,

Really happy to hear from you. Yes, St Margaret’s Primary, she is in P4, I lived just a stone throw from Stamford Primary. Stamford Primary is a good school, I think more parent need to stand out to talk more for the school. It was very important for a hasten parent as well as for the school.
Although it is not the first time but I’m still looking forward for the orientation. A million thanks to you!!!

                      Hi all,

Mine is a DD going to primary 1 next year. I would like to find out more about the school in terms of its population. How is the mix of students like? We are foreigners so we prefer school with a good mix of foreigners. Where are the students from? Is there are disciplinary issue with the school?

From reading the comments, I got the impression that stamford is very relax academically. Is that true? Can someone whose child is from stamford verify this? I do not want very academic school but at the same time I want my child to go to a school whose standard is lower than most other school.

Thank you in advance. Looking forward to your replies.
