Hihi, I saw orange belt comment that ACSP has no balloting for phase 2B in the past few years?? I’m staying within 1km, so my chance is quite good?

Can try lah. But don't know about this year. Need to monitor closely on the vacancies by calling up the school. There are some who don't mind trying out even if there is ballot but damn risky loh.......if balloted out, basically loose the phase 2B chance. Phase 2C even worse as it serves a bigger pool. So parents must weigh the risk here. I doubt anybody wants to go through phase 2C loh when you have the chance to go in at earlier phase. Maybe it's me bah.....i have weak heart and so can't take that kind of stress and disappointment.

Thanks Luckyme πŸ˜‰ I know, hubby and I are currently deciding if we should just go to ACSJ instead since we are also within 1km there.

Anyone has any idea if ACSP or ACSJ is better?

In terms of curriculum, they are the same. How i know this is because I am an active \"member\" because Hubby was an old boys of ACS. I do tag along with hubby and hence now i am part of the PSG. When time permits, i will help out at the events. During the school holidays, the teachers at both sides of the school do gather around for sharing purposes and attend workshops as well.

In terms of GEP, only ACSP has that. For students at ACSJ accepted into GEP program will get to transfer out and go into ACSP, provided they still want to continue as ACSian. For those HA that do not qualify for GEP in both schools will have another set of curriculum that is close to GEP. Hope this helps. πŸ˜‰

So parents who want their DS to be part of ACS family, they are lucky that there are 2 schools to go to.

I know I sound silly, but what’s GEP? Gifted program?

I think the competition for ACPS is very fierece. This yyear has lesser vacancies than last year so everyone who cant make it within 1km will turn to SJI or to ACSJ. As such, Junior will also be over suscribed this year. Looks like it may be balloting for both ACPS and ACSJ this year even for phase 2B.

Think must consider carefully even with the near distance. Once apply wrongly and got balloted out, then lose 2B. No chance at all for Phase 2C at all.

                      Yes, agree !
this year, strong wind blowing the direction towards ACS Junior. Expect balloting within 1 km, ACS Barker. Not only many Methodists applying, but also GRL.

Yes after PSLE, some ACS P6 boys cross over to RI, or Hwa Chong Secondary.
