I don’t know is it her teacher’s style to give lots of homework, I don’t like her drilling method. Which Chinese class is yr gal in? My gal had 3 worksheets including today and the activity book too. I try to relax and help her when she needs help in her Chinese. My Chinese is not very gd either, so feel a bit stress.

No worries, that's why we are all here

I find tons of info and help here!
Yesterday is only maths worksheet and chinese activity book.
My DD goes to Berries and we always do the work given by Berries together so I guess that helps to take a little pressure off.
I find Chinese actually need to \"drill\"
I always make her write the chinese words (ever since when she can write) (the square exercise books from Popular) one line of every word
That way she will be able to remember the words better
I read the chinese story books to her words that I don't know I use \"Google Translate\"
Toots
Glad to be of help, hope the info is useful

Long time no post here, so glad to see thread still very much alive and kicking.
Just to update.
DD Chinese in 1-9, second last class :?: .... no worries...i tell my DD that we will work hard together and improve slowly....1-8 -> 1-5 -> 1-3.... :nunchuk:
1-7 has a new form teacher...no longer Mdm Rathna... now is teacher Ms Theresa Ma.
DD has been getting her fair share of Chinese and Maths worksheet homework.
I have problem explaining Maths modelling to DD as I have no such concept during my primary school time.
Just went Popular and bought 5 Maths Assessment books.
I foresee Maths Modelling to be a major issue for DD.
My niece, also in Pri 1, is not taught Maths Modelling in her school (CHIJ), but was taught instead in her tuition class. She was able to answer all the problem sums with ease from my DD worksheet while DD struggles.
I'm telling myself not to panic 1st...bought 'The Singapore Model Method for learning Mathematics' from Popular and tell myself I will coach DD in her Maths problem sums solving... die die no tuition....yet.
18th July Sports Day already applied leave, gotta enjoy myself with DD @ the event...hope my out-of-shape body doesn't conk-out on that day. -
Hi
The maths worksheets that come back I don’t see any modelling method ??
Mostly simple calculation of numbers now progressing to double digits?
Modelling supposed to come in P3, if I’m not wrong according to the workshops that time I attend…
Correct me if I’m wrong…
salute you as you are going to teach your gal all the way…
Work hard, OK!!

Hi cfan
DD's maths 1B Workbook Page 71 & 72 Practice 9 Solving Word Problems showed solutions derived from modelling method.
