Temasek Primary

Both my kids are this school now. P1 and P2 are very different now, in every school. There are quarterly test which is stressful for parents which unlike the normal SA examination. The amount of homework, it all depends the teacher. If your child is able to be in a good class with a good teacher, of course, homework will be more than others. In P1, there are very good teacher and not so too. All by luck.

I am still indecisive about which primary school to enrol my kids.
I am deciding whether temasek or opera.

Personally I like the Opera school environment and not Temasek.
But in term of convenience, Temasek is definitely better as compare to Opera which is located at landed area. :idea:

I also came to know there will be a student care which will start next year 2013 at Opera. I am a full time housewife and may consider to put my kids at this student care in order to have some peace at home. :idea:

Given a choice, will you prefer Temasek or Opera?

I don't really know how to describe. Is just the 1st impression / feeling when one first enter into a new place. :lightrod:


I find the school v rowdy :boogie: ..and the compound of the school is not so spacious..maybe I went at the wrong timing when kids was running around.

And I went in to the classroom, find that the light inside the room is not bright enough though the light is on.

But when I went to Opera estate, I feel the peace when I went in. School is bright and spacious. But the distant from my house to the school although is near, but sure will be heavy traffic in the morning. Some people said the teacher is more relax over there??

Is just the feeling I had for this 2 school. So I am making myself confuse.

Opera Estate Primary is like > 2km away from TP leh… you can’t be within 1km for both rite…?


anyway, I kinda agree that TP is a bit small and if they have carnival or something… the place is very packed and difficult to walk…

If I drive, the distant from my place to opera is 2.4km and to Temasek is 2.15km via google map. Unless no traffic light.


I heard Temasek is expanding!! Anyway, I will try my luck on Temasek in term of convenience. And some of my friends had been doing volunteer work there. I may also join in if my son is lucky enough to get in.

Heard TP is having balloting for P2B > 2km.


For P2C >1km, probably very slim chances liao… very likely <1km need to ballot at P2C.

Just checked the MOE website. It is confirmed that SC children have to ballot if they reside outside 2km of the school. http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/primary-one-registration/balloting/

yOU'LL BE SUPRISE TO KNOW i'M ACTUALLY FROM oPERA estate primary...

But i have decided to go for St.Anthony for my girl.
1) Cos it's extremely near to my house. In cases of emergencies, i'll be able to rush over eg.sick, injured etc. (I'm also a SAHM).
2) I love Opera to bits!!! But it's definitely further and I have another 3-year old so thinking of the hassles... Ok i better stop thinking else i might change my mind!!!

So, i shall stop thinking now...errrrrrkkk. I have decided... :boogie:
