Between Qi Fa and Clementi Primary - which is better? In terms of teachers quality, curriculum etc.

I don't have any specific data for comparison of the two, apart from what is offered on their respective websites and what is available from MOE and on this site.
Clementi seems to fill up faster, but that may be in part because it draws from a relatively high density HDB area within 1 km, and is close to Clementi MRT. Qifa is in West Coast, rather off by itself. In recent years, it seems to have become increasing popular and in 2010, filled up by end of 2C. According to its website, the top ten PSLE scores were within the acceptance range for the top 10 secondary schools. I don't have any comparable info on Clementi. -
I live in West Coast, within 1 km of Qi Fa (stone’s throw) and Nan Hua and 2km of clementi primary. Any advice if i should PV for both? Which school should I register as my first choice? And what happen if i dont get a place in my 1st choice of schoo?

I am assuming your child is SC. If you live within 1 km of Nan Hua, then that would be my first choice since it is one of the top 10 primary schools in the country. I am also assuming you are talking about PV for next year's intake...this year it is brutally competitive for admissions even with PV....only 16 places allotted in 2B and another 16 for 2C. If you are accepted for PV and don't get in with 2B, you can reapply in 2C. If you still don't get into Nan Hua after 2C, then you can apply for one of the other schools in 2C supplemental (Qifa would be a better probability since you are closer...and Clementi tends to fill up faster anyway). -
I heard Qifa will be under-going some renovations in 2015 for preparation of single sessions… This is actually my main concern as the noise and dusty enviroment may not be suitable for my DD Asthma condition…
Struggling between Pei Tong and Qifa now… Any mummies have feedback for Pei Tong primary? -

If the 16 seats are filled up in phase 2B, will there will be another 16 seats left in Phase 2C?BaconEgg:

how so? if the 16 seats in phase 2b make up the total no of 240 (in the case of Nan Hua pri) how to squeeze out another 16 seats in phase 2C? Not doubting you but if Phase 2C has another 16 seats, i will stand even better chance (i hope)

after all the earlier phases, leftover vacancies for phase 2b n 2c total is 32. since 2b n 2c share 50% of e vacancies, that will be 16 for each phase.
Hope it clears ur doubts! -

Thanks u-sing-1Hi, yes I will be applying for 2C this year. With regard to BASC, I think the closest might be Town4Kids, where my daughter is currently enrolled in K2. They do seem to handle some Qifa students in the mornings...

Are u going to use their BASC service? do you know if they supervise pri kids' homework while there. I am apprehensive about BASC that is a childcare as I have personally seen childcare teachers getting Primary kids to take care of the children instead.
