:goodpost: good feedback . Also thnx for the wishes
All students in class have no problem w Math (not Math Olympiad, MO is an Elective), but not all are good in Science, at least for now, especially when now Science comprises of bio, chem & physics, each as a subject itself and is so much deeper in depth. Probably also because it's the first time the kids study Science in depth unlike in their primary school days.GLMLJLK:
Hi Dagong99
U say yr DS is in same class as Lim Li who is Lim Jeck's sister. Can u tell us how the class perform in all subjects? Is that class the best? Very good in Math and Sci?
Thanks.
I would not say his is the best class, but rather the distribution of students of various background, standards are quite even throughout the 6 classes. DS1 has classmates from neighborhood schools as well as from elite ones, classmates from India, others from Korea too. There are those who are very pro in Math & others in other subjects. Different kids have different strengths. It's an eye-opener & a good mix for DS1 to learn how to interact w people from all walks of life.
It is always good to read in advance, something that DS1 realized after 6 mths in school, especially for bio, chem & physics. DS1 told me he may not
be as good as others for Math but he is working hard on the Science subjects. So, I think as long as the kids have the interest & are motivated, they should be able to do well. All the best to those going for the camp, good luck & enjoy ! -

So class average is distinction, those w 4.5 and above should have high distinction.

How was the camp for KSP DCs? Looks like the top schools all held selection tests yesterday, conspiracy to sift out the un-serious applicants?

My Kid said it was okkk
(to him he is not science expert so he found it difficult).
For selection test issue, NUSH was really great in one way ( not sure how they managed to pick the kids from 399 Students for non pre arranged request), students heading to RI/RGS for afternoon interviews were released earlier after camp before lunch & princi talk. 2 Non Tamil MT had RI interview followed by Prelim , I think they should have had tough time managing the time. Rest of the Non Tamil MT Kids who had just prelim alone had the MT school fetch them in van to venue (so good
). The most pity ones are students who had selection test in the morning ,they had to decide either one .
The Camp experience :
1. Parents were not allowed after certain point.
2. Students were registering themselves. They also gave the portfolio to themselves.
3. After that they headed to Auditorium . There they had English Situational writing / compo (2 topics given one under science and one under humanitics and kids have to choose from it)
4. After that they had biology, physics , chemistry experiments (My kid couldnt tell much about what he did , as usual forgot  )
5. Kids were grouped in 14 to do certain experiments and 7 to do certain experiments.
6. There was group presentation and individual presentation and they had to document their findings in a paper to hand over to staff.
7.Tea break and Lunch was provided.
8. Back bag with water bottle was given as goodie back (not sure if anything was in other than this)
9. They finished all then followed by lunch followed by princi speak and released.
hope this helps . :xedfingers:
