Myanmar maids

I understand that one of the very important event the mynmars celebrate is the Water Festival in the month of April. Seems like everyone there is looking forward like our Chinese N Y.
ST… think ur maid is rather young and more to enjoy then to work, why dnt u get the agent to talk to her and set her straight. -
Hi moonee
That’s my aunty’s maid with the brother. Her contract ends in a few months. All these one and half years, despite agent speaking with her, repeating teaching her, she still can’t keep the house clean, kitchen and sink still smells bad, still can’t cook.
My cousins and aunty will be getting an Indo maid, no more myanmar maids for us. My new indo maid (ex sin) now one month with me, there’s a world of difference…so far so good…finally my world make sense again. Thank God, I’m very blessed to get this ex sin Indo maid. -
Hi st2, I must peh fu your auntie and cousins for closing so many eyes to the maid's shortcomings...
I won't be renewing my present maid's contract when it ends next year. I am going to try to do wo a maid to practice for the near future where I won't be able to employ one. I m also going to start driving again. So wish me luck!!

st2:
Sounds like yr aunty is more patient than me, I thought I was very patient cos I normally put up with the maids nonsense for 6 months the most...if aftr all these months nothing sinks into yr aunts maids head then she must be downright stupid or stubborn. I guess she is very young, cant cook aint that bad but unable to keep the house clean and not take instructions? thats not what I would call a maid... ai yah, tell yr aunt not to waste her money on someone thats incapable, no need to wait for contract to end, better start lookng for a new maid now before prices go up or new law sets in etc... btw, did u take ur indon frm Bkt timah shopping centre and whats the agency fee like now?Hi moonee

Hi st2 and Moonee, thanks for being my listening ears... DH normally roll his eyes up in the sky whenever I complained abt maids.. Now I don't even tell him much.. Just keep it inside n simmer to boiling point.
I will pm you both in private abt my plans once it s firm. -
Hi moonee
My aunty 80+ and lives alone though her one of her daughters stay few blocks away would check in every few days. Putting up with her myan maid because it’s always a hassle changing maids right? The maid is those, you ask then she do type…eventually, my aunty tired of asking.
You are very right, it’s a maid’s job, to clean. Receptionist answer phones, sales people sell things, we all take instructions to do our job. But so far, I see myan maids just not able to understand and they are very dirty and no hygeine concept. But when they want something, they become very articulate and express very well.
My relative recommended this agent for the indo maid, her office in Joo Chiat. Agency fee is $490
Hi Fatty Mum
Sure I’ll lend you a listening ear here or PM. My husband also not interested and never has anything so say about any of my maids except the myan maids when they were so outrageous.
I think most husbands are like that because they are not there dealing with the maid directly. I stop telling him about maid stuff long time ago.
All this 10 years of maids, my husband only raised issued with the 2 myan maids, it… is… that… bad … All my experience with bad indo maids which I sent back after 1 month, 3 months not as bad as the myan maids.
When it comes to bad maids, the lies and issues are so ridiculous, you really have to be there and hearing it for yourself if not, very hard to believe. It’s only when we deal with the maids everyday, we understand and listen to each other (I mean us, the madam in the house), not our husbands, they’re not interested to hear your problems with the maid. Unless it is a big thing like stealing or hurt etc. -
st2 … well I guess the maid serve as a companion to yr aunt, to watch over her too. My mum is in her mid 80s too but will never give the maid a chance to take advantage of her, , my mum does the cooking daily and checks on the maids wrongdoing. Yes, its so tiring to switch maids and to start all over again and worse is getting in a total stranger again. I can understand fully well what all of us are going thru.

Hi Fatty Mum, Moonee and st2
I can understand because I went through all these ridiculous stuff with 2 myanmar maids. They drove me up the wall and probably contributed to my stress level and aggravated medical condition. I agree. You just can’t believe how ridiculous they are unless you experience it yourself. So I can understand how others who have never had myanmar maids sometimes think I may be too fussy or crazy.
I decided not to have maids anymore. House is more messy, we are busier (husband still wishes he didn’t have to do the washing up so he likes to eat out) but the floor is much cleaner. But the blessing that came out of this is that we are closer. We can do whatever we like and we can now occupy every part of our house. In the past, we always retreat to our study room. Now we always stay in the living room. My DD is much more independent. Overall we are are happier as a family.
Previously I was always happy to have a maid to do all the housework. I have had Indo, Philippino maids. But over the years, I feel the maid standards have deteriorated and it is no longer easy to manage them whatever their nationality. Of course there are still very good maids around. But many are doing bad things to/neglecting their little wards/elderly folks when the employers are not around to observe.
