Can help me with the question below :

      http://i47.tinypic.com/2zfvjv7.jpg\">
      Ans key is 3

      Answer is 4

I thought tadpoles eat algae so I googled and found this.

\"When a wild pond tadpole is newly hatched, the first thing it will eat is its egg jelly. As they get a little bigger and start to develop they will nibble on pond algae that grows in the shallows of the pond along the edges. They will also move onto larger leaves or the stems of nearby plants. When they are a little bigger and developed they will adapt a more carnivorous diet by eating dead fish, dead tadpoles or worms.\"
Cat has 2 stages and tadpole does not look like adult, so best answer is 4

      So answer may be 3.
Agree. Best answer is 4. Cats do not have 3 stages life cycles. I overlooked that point earlier.

When my dd came back from school, I asked her how many stages of life cycle does a cat have? She said her school teacher taught her that a cat can have 2 or 3 stages, both answers are acceptable.

          So now i’m confused too!

              Hi Ms Lim,

The correct answer is 3. The current science syllabus teaches that there are 3 or 4 stage life cycles. Mammals like the cat have a 3 stage life cycle, just that the egg hatches in the womb and the young is born alive.

The tadpole does not moult and does not eat insects, so (2) and (4) are out. Only A and C are possible.

              Hope this helps!

Thx Niedino, savoury sweet, whitety and Michaelia0816 for sharing your views. My ds also says cat has 3 stage life cycle.

I did a search on moulting at Wikipedia and it says :

                  So frog moults?

Yes. Frog moults. I didn't know about this too until I googled and found some videos showing the process of the frog moulting. Both me and dd learnt something new from your qn. Thanks!
