Hi champion,

next week my boy going to break his record of staying back everyday after sch - mom n tues until 4pm, wed 6pm thurs 515Pm n Friday 4pm. N science practical test on thurs n math topical test on Friday. I see his schedule already feel tired.

Oh dear... seeing their schedules so packed at P4 level, I can't imagine what it will be at P5 & P6.

Have you all planned or thought of letting them quit CCA next yr?

My DD1 has also very packed schedule every week - with Mon & Fri there are supplementary classes follow by Maths Olympiad Training so both days she back home at 5pm; Tues CCA till 4.30pm so also home at 5pm, Thurs school ends at 3pm so she reaches home 3.35pm. Bonus is Wednesday where she finishes school at 1.30pm, reaches home 2pm together with DD2.

Last few Saturdays and the coming 2 more will be same routine -- she has to reach school by 1.30pm to leave for the NDP rehearsal and follows by full-dress performance. So, she will only be home by earliest 10.00pm.

We try not to schedule any activities on Sundays till the NDP is over as we feel she needs more rest and :snooze: longer. Have E-mail and spoken to the CCA Teacher in-charge that next year, P5 hopefully she needs not to be involved in the NDP as it will take up too much time

I think dd like the musical "Annie" because the star of the show is around her age! Personally, I found some of the numbers a little to suggestive and "adult" for a young audience.

Dd used to have a full schedule, but it has gotten less busy after SYF was over. Guess I should be thankful that her CCA is dance and it winds down after SYF. But she still needs to go for practice 3 times a week. She doesn’t have supplementary lesson after school.
I think schools take turns participating in NDP. I know parents who have been complaining that they have to chaperone their children to NDP rehearsals twice a week. the kids are allowed to come in 2 hr later the day after rehearsals because they usually get home after ten on those days. I can’t imagine any school doing it every year.

Yes, I can see that DD1 is tired almost everyday and when I get home around 8pm, most time she is lying lazily on the sofa

She sent me a SMS message this afternoon telling me that her CA2 schedule and topics to be tested has been given :nailbite: Taken away this week, she left with 2 weeks for revision Well, I just reply the SMS with \"Noted; Jia You!\" :rahrah: :rahrah: Don't want to add on further stress on her; just hope to be a support to her :love:

Looks like all our DD & DS are all so busy…

Though DS1 does not have CA2 coming up, the school is piling them with so much homework…so much so DS1 is feeling resentful. I’m constantly motivating him, encouraging him ( not adding to his stress ) and I hope he’s feeling ok by end of term 3.

Yes, our kids are only P4, 10 years old or reaching 10 if the birthday fall in the coming months But, looking at their school time-table, workload & the school bag, I really feel heart-pain At times, I wish school workload will be easier, CCA or other activities will be lesser and the school bag to be lighter I have seen DD1's classmates -- the bags are equally that \"BIG\" and there are a few that is smaller in build and really wanna sayang them :snuggles:

Ever asked DD1,\" Why don't you leave your files/textbooks/activity books in class? Or do you have a cabinet where you can lock up?\" She answered,\" Lockers not meant for us; and we need to bring files/textbooks/ activity books home to do our homework!\" :faint:

My boy’s school work load is quite manageable. Teachers hardly pile them with homework. But he is busy with non academic stuff that the dad reminded me to monitor his learning.

Yes, really heartache on school bag. It is almost every subject every day. And his silent reading book also thick. Feedback already and school said not to bring too thick story book and non time table stuff. But storybook difficult to find thin for their level. And with math and chinese daily, already four books in the bag not including exercise books. Half his bag is filled with papers! Mostly chinese handouts and he brings science file to school too. Gosh! He doesn’t like me to look into his bag as I will nag at him.

My boy.used to carry heavy.bag climbing up & down 4storey at the holding. He dared not leave the books under his table as the ft will scold. Now at this new premise, I saw many of them are leaving their heavy textbooks under their tables, including my son. Now his school bag is very light but he has to climb up 5storey everyday as the lifts are for teachers and students running errands ONLY.
