Hi, just to share my personal opinion. All these unhappiness arises due to SBL over issue of letters. In future we just have to take note that the letter from SBL does not gurantee a place at mee toh as u may not be selected jst like SHKK which set certain criteria if there are too many people going thru this route. From what l see this is the most easy way as compare to PV or RC member which need to put in numerous effort and time. Btw l have a few friends whose eldest child is in mee toh but do not intend to enrol their second child in the same school. The reason they told me is they do not think it's good thus encourage me to enrol mine in Horizon instead.

I understand that there is no gurantee a place from BL Letter. The problem is the school do not even give us a chance to try for a place.

Technically, if their Phase 2B got 62 vacancy and 58 applicants, all should get in. :roll:

From what i read, it seems that certain group got preferential treatment. My understanding was if the Phase 2B was being over subscribed, priority will be given to those that fall within 1km first SC (PV, GRL and BL) . If that number exceed the 2B quota, then those(<1km) will have to ballot. This seems to be the case for most schools.

We should bring this matter up to Punggol MP for demanding a good and fair treatmentto us since the school cannot or not bother to tell us the rejected reasons. If there is any injustice, we deserve to ve it back.

I believe you might have a case if you find any of the PV/GRL/BL lives >2km and get into 2B while you(<1km) did not.

Anyway, do try in Phase 2C if you are SC and lives <1km. Good luck.

Hi silverson l can understand the disappoinment as l go thru it when trying to enrol my child into pcf. We queue up early morning but they do not even want to accept our application stating all k1 class is taken up by the nursery class. Look for MP got a reply. In the end also same answer. Thus for ur case do u really wan mee toh if yes go for balloting at 2c phase or jst choose another school? Becas from wat l see it the school mangement comittee that decide selection criteria of letters from SBL not the school. And l believe it’s not jst the four of u tat had been rejected since there are four more vacancies.

Hi all, allow me to share the facts or info gathered so far.


I try to apply for PV back in 2010, and was given Q46. In Jul 2011, I did not received any info from the school hence I email and call. It seems the admin are not conversant in email but will surely accept you calling in.

Subsequently, I was not accepted for PV after I called them up in late Aug and was encourage to try BSL path. There I go, call up the clan and asked them how to go about doing it. The staff did not mentioned anything about the min membership year but is like more keen to take your contribution and psuh for life member as the refferal letter is much easier to get than those ordinary member (due to some fixed annual meeting). Fair enough, I willingly give to the temple and then ask for the letter in Feb which I submitted to the school by hand.

In end May, when I was told by the sch admin that the school will give me an answer about my application, nothing happened and I have called in again. More delays because she said it will be end of Jun, then changed to early Jul, then mid Jul before P2B start, then a day before the registration is to start, I called in again. She claimed she called me the day before and I told her I have received no such call. Anyway, she mentioned the school comm board has sat many time but undecided whether to conduct balloting in P2B as it was oversubscirbed by 34 pax.

So much for a fairer system in this P1 registration! I told her that if it was to be fair, they should conduct balloting as it is MOE directive to do so when the applications are oversubscribed, same for Nanyang Primary last year where Zoe Tay was not successful in the balloting for his son.

I am not asking than I must get in the sch for my child but this whole system of fairness is crapped and it has to start from the school/clan. A letter of explanation is the least we parents should get for better accountability and transparency if not the future cohorts of PV/RC/Clan will be treated the same way we the unlucky few and many out there are treated.

By the way all schools are going single stream and I realised Mee Toh does not privide after school care service right? Hence might want to drop this school altogether for the lousy admin and poor PR.

SMC are the one who made the decision and it have nothing to do with them they are only running the school. This leads me to hv the impression that the principle as well as vp is not that responsible
Fyi, i hv asked them why are there still bal vancancy n they just replied that those seats were given up by pv who hv spare more than 100hrs to the school
Qns is why they want to gave up their seats if they are willing to spend so many hrs to the school???

Hi Ling_ling, I am not witching hunting to find out who is at fault here, but looking at the accountability and transparency. The least they can do is to explanation in details and not hide here and there.


Anyway, are you aware of any after school care services around Mee Toh vincity? With all school going single stream, alot of us parent will be affected by the timing and arrangement for our kids after the school ended at 1pm. Any suggestion?

I am wondering why this year’s phase 2B registration has so many rejected from clan? Can those parents registered as BL who are being rejected by Mee Toh school, please complain to the higher school authority or to Punggol MP? We need to clarify the reasons for the justice of this year’s rejected parents and also for the future phase 2B registration parents?
