Phew! Finally someone remembers the word 'Asia' in this thread. I tried to find back my post on this thread, sometime after the talk of 'sian', but there's just too many pages it's lost. Anyway, it is something about ASIA and ASIAN that is unique here - according to the heading.

The first word of the title already stated is ASIA. So this is not only a local issue but a regional one (or maybe worldwide, who knows?). Does it mean every country also have a problem in their education system? Or at least those problems we pointed out here?

Doubt our kids are whipped...they are too precious to be whipped and neither do tutors accept credit card form of payment. Right?

My friend whose child attend TLL paid by credit card lei... Unless I heard wrongly... :oops:

TLL is a tuition centre...I know of someone who sends both kids there for math, English and science...hope I didn't get it wrong. But it isn't an enrichment centre right? :?

I am puzzling are all school teachers doing the same training from NIE or what....


Why many parents are engaging tutor from ex-school teachers or current teachers to teach their children from home! And what have our children learned during school lessons?

Strange is why these tutors can deliver study technique to the child when come to 1-1.

And the child in school said that his/her teachers never teach any special technique....(not sure whether the child did not pay attention in class or the teacher's \"teaching skill\" fault)

Children spending half a day in school yet cannot understand what were the teachers teaching....
If we able to spend such high tuition fees (S$50/hr) to engaging ex-school or current teachers, then our children should not go to school and wasting their time since home tutor can do a better job than the school teachers and after all they're \"teachers\".

Save the "special" for private lessons with unlimited potential income… The kids score, more biz, more $$$$$$$$.


Teach in the special in school? kids score, school rep go up, so what? can any potential benefit match that of the direct increase in Biz of the private lessons?

Anyway… "conflict of interest" warnings have been throw out of the window time and again… nobody want to listen…

Seems like I’m the public enemy no. 1 now… for voicing up all the "conflict of interest" concerns, in relation to the quality of teachings in the education industry…
