      Hi Jo.ong,

Different people have different yard stick in selecting of the primary school of their choice, some mainly just look at distance, PSLE results, types of ECA's offer, school environment, security & safety etc.

Here are my selection evaluations for selecting primary school, can serve as a reference:

      (1) Types of Awards the School Achieved.
      (2) Past PSLE Performance
      (3) Portfolio of the Principals
      (4) Distance from Home, Availablity of School Bus or Public Transport.
      (5) School Environment.
      (6) Availability of nearby BASC from Primary School.
      (7) Safety & Security. (Need to cross big junction raod if alight from bus stop)

Radin Mas Primary had been performed very well since the Principal which came from Rulang Primary. Before 2000, Radin Mas Primary was not even a shiny star in Bukit Merah area.

Seriously I was considering to put my DS in River Valley Primary & only at the last minute I switch to Radin Mas Primary. Only consider that it must be convenient that all just that simple.

Take your time to target the primary school. Good luck.

My criteria probably more on the teachers who will be teaching my child, the school environment must be friendly and nearby... neighbourhood schools should be alright. πŸ˜‰

            Hi All,

Did anyone join Radin Mas Parentlink? How is this all about? 1 year = $5, 6 years at $20. I asked the school they said it is like a Alumni
            ?? :?
I did...for 6 years...it is something like an 'alumni' where parents get priorty to sign children for certain course if there are limited spaces

              famangelina31,

Maybe just bring 1 water bottle on 1st day.No info from school so can't fault us right?
i check with the staff and below is her reply
[quote]They are not required to bring anything for the first day except for essential items such as water bottle, pencil box and a note book.
The form teacher will brief the pupils on what to bring for the subsequent days.

                    Hi,

I would like to get some of your personal opinions on whether the system and teachers at Radin Mas are more towards the "old school of thoughts" or the "new school of thoughts"?

Old school of thoughts are something like teachers believe in caning, lessons are conducted in a not so interesting or interacting way etc

                    Thanks!

Nowadays teachers cannot cane students anymore.
