Hi,my daughter in waiting list......so worried......anybody got idea what the chances r to get confirmed order.i think can't even sleep cause result for WL out by 3rd august
For parents with DC on \"WL\"
From past experience, a \"WL\" is as good as CO if any only if you choose NUSH as your first choice in Option preference list. Suppose if you have another CO and put that as your 1st choice and NUSH WL as 2nd choice(of the 3 choices), then automatically the 1st CO is taken as your preferred choice. NUSH expected a higher no of CO not taken up (competition with RI/RGS/NYGH/ACSI etc) and that's why a certain no of WL have been selected as possible replacements. So these WL are as good as CO given that not all CO offered are taken up. The no of COs offered is 153 with certain no of good WL as replacements. No body know the figures.
The PSLE intake is only about 17 candidates yearly. The cohort for NUSH in 2011 is 139 and 150 (I think) for 2012 while actual yearly allocation is for maximum of 170 places. That's 20-30 off the target. These are the CO not taken up afte the WLs have been taken into consideration.
NUSH don't top up the figure to 170. IMHO so a WL is as good as a CO.

Is there a min T-score for WL to be converted to CO during PSLE release day?[/quote]You asked a very reasonable qns which I don't have an answer but it is expected that all DSA Candidates with CO offered need just a minimum T-score of 200 (i.e eligible for express stream).matadorepy:

But then they said result for wait list out by 3rd August so how can confirm order be given after psle result is released…confused
-
Sorry but I am still confused here, Is "pending" = WL or to be chosen for WL? Cos I read somwhere that the WL list will be out on 3rd August? So those with "pending" status is under going selection for the WL list?
Hope anybody can enlighten me on this…very blur on this system. -
Oh forgot to ask, how they select for the WL? Another round of interview? or thru the results of the selection camp?

Some kids have gone for 4/5 DSAs and not surprisng may have offered multiple COs and WLs , so MOE does required them to make a selection of their preferred choices say 1st Choice, 2nd Choice, 3rd Choice (limit 3 choices)
The 1st choice is always taken as the preferred choice whether it is a CO or WL. I also understand that from 2012 onwards MOE does not allowed changes once a CO has been offered (no more changes and transferred activity banned). -

My DS is not offered admission. How sad. We are disappointed of course. He says he would try again. He is THAT keen. I am just glad that at least we know early. It has been fun being here. Continue to have fun, the rest of you

Same here
(Haven't broke the news to him, he has been asking since morning, called me during recess to remind me to check on NUSH website.... he'd be very very very disappointed... he has been dreaming of going to NUSH since P4.... now hope dashed
