Hi Funx3
If you allow her, can she just take off for 3 days like that with her passport? Is there any MOM regulations or terms and conditions on FDW working here? -

1st-ly - I Say \"NO\".Hi Funx3

2nd-ly - Don't think MOM, or Insurance Clause Cover Out of Sg Incident, Right? Even when we travel oversea, we gotta Buy Own Travel Insurance.
3rd-ly - I've initially verbally say OK for her to take a Day Off for Hari Raya. She Say will Go Day Trip to JB with Her Fren. Told her she's not Cover under Insurance, Nor Can I Be Responsible for Her since she Does not travel with our Family. I Told her she Gotta sign written undertaking to be Fully responsible for herself since she's travelling out of country by herself.
Now .... Am Having Second Thoughts ....
Is the Written Undertakings Pakai or Not (in MOM's eyes)? -

I suggest you call MOM to check out. I remember they have a hotline, though difficult to get through, once you get the officer, they are quite helpful.
1st thing - I Say \"NO\".st2:

Well, most agents just want the maids transferred, they don't really filter. Also, not all maids want to work for expats. They are keeping their options open cos some locals are willing to pay their salaries. And it's a more stable job cos expats can leave the country anytime. At the end of the day, as I've come to realize, the onus is really on the employer - hire at your own risk! Agents shouldn't be counted on.Hi Lynn2010
What I meant was the agency should keep the expat employer experience maids on a list for expats to interview. Their terms are so high, I doubt local employer would go for them, just wasting time. -
hi all⦠i wonder. our maid is only with us 1 week n 5 days. is there such thing as home leave?

hi all.. i wonder. our maid is only with us 1 week n 5 days. is there such thing as home leave?
Yes. Home leave is to be given after the \"completion\" of 2 years contract (as per contract). I always presume that if the FDW did not complete the 2 year contract, then too bad.
Some really good maid, i'll let them take their 2 weeks home leave before the contract ends (at my convenience), so it can be 1.5 yr into their employment. I cant let them go during the school term, so they usually take their home leave in June or Nov/Dec during the sch hols. To protect myself, i told her if she returned and decided not to continue till the end of the contract, i shall deduct their salary for the air ticket
Dont tell me they already asked for home leave (want to go home) after 1 week & 5 days. -

Yes, when the maid go back home.
If out of Sg for 7 days or More, can Claim for corresponding Refund of workers levy from MOM.
Your Maid also planning for Hari Raya Holiday, but to further destination?
If so, Personally, I would not grant permission since -
1. less than 2 wks into work = still under probation
2. still under pay loan period
3. still new, don't know maid character yet - may decide not come back
4. she got money to pay for air ticket, expenses -meh? :? -
wow⦠nowadays maids are more daring.
I wont even dare to ask to take annual leave during the first 3 months (at least) unless it is urgent/emergency. -
the thought of her wanna transfer on her 6th day cz she cant do \"pretty table set ups\" when she can actually do perfectly the nxt day.. bugs me till today
tho she apologised then. now trying her luck asking permission to go home even at her own expense. yes she has money! 5 yrs oredi here. very experience!!
