O dear for ding ning… I wish Li could have given her a hug… afterall, China wins both gold and silver… So sad to see it as a fight for personal glory.
Moral of the story among top rankings…there is always an element of luck involved once skills have reached the pinnacle range… -

Incredible. She deserves every ounce of the medal. It is a win not just for Singaporeans, but for all those that believe in the never-say-die spirit that Feng embodies. Watching her tremendous effort to come back in spite of the odds in her previous 2 games gave me a most heart-warming feeling. What a gutsy girl!Yessssss!!!! And it was a short game too! What a win! Four years ago Feng was an inexperienced player but her hard work had paid off. There is a great difference in her play after these four years. She has improved tremendously and her fighting spirit definitely put her over the edge. The Jap girl shown her frustrations and started to crumple after the second game. Though Feng was from China but she has done Singapore proud. She can go much further than Li J W whose playing style I don't like personally.

Can someone explain to me why China's men's team won the gold for artistic gymnastics but in the finals for men's individual all-around, there is no China individual selected for the 24 finalists? :?
I thought Chen Yi Bing was singled out to win the rings for the individual but unfortunately, no China competitors was on the finalists list....is it possible they did not perform to par individually after winning the team event? I am so baffled!! I would expect at least 2 of them to be in the individual finalists. :?
Somehow artistic gymnastics is not complete without China reps...or did I see wrongly?? -
Today’s final is for Men’s All Round, not individual events. Selection of the 24 finalists is based on their total score in all the events during the qualifying round which China did quite badly, only ended up as No.6 then. None of the Chinese did well enough to qualify as top 24 all round.
But for individual events, the selection of the finalists will be based on their individual scores in the respective events during qualifying round. -

Thanks dimsum....but this seems quite disappointing to me because in the past Olympics they had individual gymnast strong in all-round like Li Ning(1984 Bronze), Li Xiaoshuang(1996 Gold), Yang Wei (2000, Silver, 2008 Gold)...Today's final is for Men's All Round, not individual events. For Feng, it's S'pore's first bronze for tt singles after 4 attempts.
You can give me all the skills in the world, but once I start thinking of the $250K prize money, I'll crumple like a deck of cards ... and start serving into row Z. :rotflmao: -
Uchimura Kohei from Japan clinched the gold for all-around and in 2008, he got silver. His new score was 2 points above his 2008 performance.
He put up a great performance with a slight mistake for floor exercise.
When I look at such sportsmen, I see extreme determination in them to take the sport to the art of perfectio. He was stressed for his floor exercise because he just saw his team-mate Tanaka fell from the pommel horse.
Unfortunately his team-mate Tanaka, who was closely behind him as second in rank, fell in pommel horse item and took him off the medal list.
Germany took silver, a delirious win after 76 years.
US took the bronze, pushing the young boy from Russia to 4th.
Uchimura was clearly outstanding so I missed those times when there are 2-3 gymnasts who compete neck-to-neck on their near perfect skills.
