For P1, it is not compulsory to have CCA.
But I did let her take up swimming n speech n drama as enrichment programs.[/quote]Thks bubbles, guess it wud b nice to take up some CCA for a start too.
Just a question for swimming, do they conduct their lesson nearby e Sch & may I know e timing & frequency?

      Cos I'm a FTWM & logistics wud b a problem for me.

        Hi Marsilingmom,
Does your girl come home late everyday with the CCA & maybe extra lessons by teachers?
I m worried that in future, if my girl has to stay back in school, she will come home late & will not have the time to do her school work, etc..
She comes home late on Mondays because of swimming (~4-5pm) and Fridays around 4pm because of drama. I have opted out of extra lessons because she has Math and Chinese tuition at home. So far, she has never not had time to do her homework. I guess it's a matter of discipline, because she does her work immediately after coming home from school, before watching TV and playing, etc.

Swimming is conducted at Katong Swimming Complex every Monday (for this year, at least, not sure if it will change next year). However sometimes the bus from swimming back to the school arrives late, and the homebound school bus departs before the kids come back. When this happens, we usually have to pick DD up ourselves. Luckily, we live just a stone's throw away so it's just a 10-15 minute walk. We are training her to walk home by herself. If you live quite far away from the school, it might be a problem.

What's the timing of the care centre? ie, the latest pick-up time in the evening and how much is the cost?

                    Balloting status is out.

All SC children are admitted to the school in this phase. Balloting will be conducted for PR children residing outside 2km of the school.

I'll presume it'll work if I've put her in e student care beside e Sch.
