Hi, can anyone advise me what bus to take from Clementi MRT is the shortest route to NUSHigh ? I search online but seem different buses will stop at different stops ? Bus 183 is 3 stops from Clementi MRT, Bus 189 is 1 stop from Clementi MRT ? :?
This is what I have found out online. (not sure abt #189 though)
From Clementi MRT, u can take #96 and #183. Alight at bus stop 17099. Cross the overhead bridge to get to NUS High.
Going home, either walk to bus stop 17091 to take #183 and #96 to Clementi MRT; or use the back gate (near the canteen), take #196 at bus stop 17191 to Buona Vista MRT or Commonwealth MRT.
Ok. Thanks. will try tomorrow

1. Do Children need to go for interview/test to get the CCA they are interested.
There will be a CCA fair early Term 1 . Can check /ask questions at the booths. After that you put in your preference with your plus points ( like same CCA in Pri, any certs ect). I think 3 choices (or maybe 5) in order of your preference.
leeven : so how does the allocation is happening. based on the certs & past experience. will CCA teachers interview / test kids :?
For DD she did not have a trial. Not sure for all CCAs
2. Are children allowed to participate in any competitons . How will teh competition details are informed to DC's . what are the competitions for Year 1 - Year 3
You mean Sports competitions, it will depend. Usually in year 1 not likely to represent school team. If school team is not so strong and the child a strong player, may get a chance to represent school.
leeven :For Maths / Science Olympiad :?
All children who whish to apply can apply. I think things like SMO J is by default. Fee deduction is by Giro. Yr1 Maths Olympiad course for Sem1 is open to all.
4. What is Einstein + . how kids to get join it.
The students will be informed on how and when to apply. If the child is from the primary Einstien club, it helps.
leeven : My DS is from Einstien club so he gets auto entry right :?
I think still got to apply , but higher chances.
6. Any parent with kid in Gavel Club.
I am sure there are many parents with kid in Gavel club.
I am also one of them, but dont ask me what goes on...
leeven : was there any audition / test to join this club :?
Dun think so. DD joined this year only as 2nd CCA.
:thankyou: very much -

[quote=\"shurley197323\"]HI, anyone know are the students suppose to wear school uniforms for this saturday tea session ?
Based on NUSH response, ur child can come in either school uniform or casual/outside wear. No requirement of the clothing for the preview. Hope this helps.
BeContented, my DS decided to wear NUSH shirt that was provided during the selection camp so It is not his school uniform so considered casual?

Hmmm....sounds like good idea. Guess, tomorrow morning will check with DS what he wants to wear

Is anyone here deciding between RGS and NUS High? Anything to share.
My daughter has been accepted by NUS High and awaiting results from RGS. She likes both schools.
But I do not know where to start comparing the two schools.
I would appreciate any advice. -

The gender ratio for NUSH is always about 4M : 1F. Would your DD be perturbed by this sex ratio imbalance ? Does she mind not taking \"O\" or \"A\" level ? Does this \"RGS\" branding meant more a lot to her or to you (for that matter) ? Does she love maths and science passionately and wish to learn at fast and accelerated pace ? Is she an independent learner and wish to do academic research? FYI, NUSH also placed equal emphasis on Langauage, humanities, art and music development despite being a Maths and Science school.
My DD is in NUSH Y2. 2 years back she and 4 of her RGPS GEP classmates(incl top RGPS girl) made an unprecedented decision to join NUSH over RGS. Then their NUSH cohort has only 29 girls. They chose a \"road less travelled\" so as to say and have not regretted their decision. They settled well and are doing extremely well to date.
My DD given rationales were -
NUSH provides a new fresh perspective and academically more challenging environment with no national exams to tie down with
- they prefer a co-education class environment after 6 years in primary girl school
- they like the fast, accelerated , independent and self-learning environment
- they don't miss the RGS \"branding\" after all they already had 3-6 years of RG(P)S while joining the RGS is re-uniting them with fellow GEP classmatees for another 4 (10 years)
- they so often heard from their past ex-GEP classmates about the intense rivalries among the big RGS cohort that is enough to turn off ...In fact some of them are quitting RGS in Y2
- On the other hands, NUSH girls being such a minority are generally the darlings of the cohort with special care given ...
On the whole, despite being the minority, NUSH girls have always performed brilliantly academically in both Maths n Science. They also have an edge especially in languages and humanities over the boy.
Ultimately, your DD must decide what's is best for herself ..her temperament ... her learning style .. does she miss not being an RGS \"branding\" ? -
Anyone here deciding/ decided between RI and NUS High? Anything to share. My DS got NUSH CO waiting for RI. Any current NUSH parents who got CO from RI but joined NUSH can share. . :?
