Hi Augmum,
Yes, I hv a dd in P6 and she applied DSA via academics. She is very keen to join the DHS family but she still went to NYGH interview for the experience.
Some of her classmates like her applied both to DHS and NYGH were shortlisted for NYGH but not for DHS despite using the same GAT test results. Quite puzzling. -

I also observed the same thing and find it puzzling too! I was expecting one of dd's classmate, who was shortlisted for NYGH to go DHS with her on Sat, but was surprised she was not shortlisted by DHS.Hi Augmum,

I heard from classmate's mother that DHS is a govt school so limited DSA academics vacancies unlike NYGH is independent school which they can decide to award how many DSA vacancies.

Not sure if it is true. -

A question came to my mind.....
So if yr gal is offered CO from both NYGH N DHS, which will she choose ??Same as her kor kor?
What if , ( if lah) NYGH accepted her and not DHS,
will she accept the CO ? Or will she wanna to wait for her PSLE results for S1 posting ? -

thanks for yr sharing.... Applications to both schs also based on academics ?

Ya, half of the capacity is reserved for DSA , and the other half for S1 postings.
I heard from classmate's mother that DHS is a govt school so limited DSA academics vacancies unlike NYGH is independent school which they can decide to award how many DSA vacancies.

My speculation is that ....could it be more vacancies are allocated for sports, PA rather than academics,
thus more stringent via academics ? :scratchhead: -
