I buy from Tiong Bahru market, a big piece for $10. I don’t know the weight but usually it serves 3 adults as part of a typical chinese dinner in my family, ie served with rice and another dish. It comes wrapped up and is very clean too.

              Hi,

where can I buy cheap salmon, the other day I went to cold storage and saw their
salmon fillet was $15 and my hubby ate the whole thing as it is not that big. Are there cheaper alternatives?
for convenience, NTUC salmon fillet is cheap and good enough.

Can use fish head for soup and rest of fish cut in fillet / slices up to you.

How do you make your salmon fish head soup? Can share?

Thank you for sharing, but I believe it really depends on which wet market you go to.

Anyways, consume salmon on a less irregular basis; while it is full of omega fatty acids, the fish may be unavoidably tainted by the chemical pollutions of waters these days. Think toxic metals.

That will be all. Happy Sunday evening.
The cheapest Salmon is less than $10/kg. The most ex is from Cold Storage, $35-$38 per kg. Anyone knows what justify this high price?

One guy told me the cheap ones are farmed, CS ones from sea. Not sure if this is true. Would paying more means safer salmon, no toxic metal?

Anyone knows where to get cheaper white cod fish. I heard this fish can't be farmed so very ex and eating it also mean we are helping to make them extinct. It's $60 per kg this days, used to be around $30 many years back. Even kurau are more ex then salmon now.

For fish oil, I buy pharmaceutical grade to ensure non-toxic.

I think most salmon r farm bred now. Unless they specify is wild salmon and there is a diff in the clr of the flesh. But usually i just buy frm ntuc. Smtimes, they sell salmon belly and it makes yummy porr for my bb.

Think salmon is ex. But I usually bought mine from fairprice. Find the fish from market is sometimes unreasonably ex so now my marketing is usually done at fairprice together with other dry items.
