We just came back from a lovely holiday in Pulau Beser. Dd loved the snorkeling and fishing and collecting shells, which we photographed then threw back into the sea. And catching crabs at daybreak was a laugh too. We threw them back into the sea too. It's not quite as nice as Trengganu, but it's nearer. It was awfully hot, though. Now it's time to hit the books.

Hi Laura02, your trip sounds interesting. I'm now so tempted to bring DD there too. I just googled and realize it is in Malacca. So how can we get to Pulau Besar from Malacca. By ferry? Where in Malacca do we park our car?

          Thank you. 😄

            Hi Happy Mama!

there are twoPulau Besar - one off Melacca, the other off Mersing. We went to the one off Mersing. Its 135 km fr Johor Bahru to Mersing. There is paid open air car parks at the jetty at 12 RM per day.
This is Malaysia, so expect lots of insects like houseflies, mosquitoes, ants … both in the room and at the dinning areas. Rooms are fairly clean but corners may be dusty and sheets are not pristine white. And there’s no TV in the rooms!
But the beach has wonderfully white powdery sand … and sand flies. The sea in front of the hotel has some corals with fish swimming amongst the rocks. Kids were thrilled. There’s a cool tree house in front of the hotel with hammocks, swings, roles … I’ve seen better corals off Trengganu. But its relaxing if all you aim to do is laze around and enjoy the sea breeze.

In about 2 weeks' time, it will be the end of Term 3 and there will be a one-week break. Any parents planning for short holidays? :please:

Sep 1 week seems to be too short for a holiday and furthermore need to stay focus for SA2 preparation in just 6 weeks after school re-open. Maybe my dd takes longer time to warm up her engine..... now without CAs her engine still hasn't started yet.... :slapshead:
