under phase 2CS, is it the same pratice as for phase 2C? which means sporean within 1KM will go in first ? any idea ?

Yes, Singaporean <1km first, follow by 1 to 2 and then more than 2km.

          MOE site update for 2CS:

          http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/primary-one-registration/vacancies/
          Day 1

9 schools no. of applicants exceeded no. of vacancies by
          Zhenghua 13
          Marymount 12
          Cantonment 8
          Concord 8
          Ngee Ann 7
          Xingnan 4
          Tampines 2
          Clementi 1
          Riverside 1

SC applicants outside 1km and PR may need to check with school on balloting risk.

The following 11 schools have single-digit vacancies or no places.
          Cedar 0
          Bedok Green 1
          Woodlands Ring 1
          CHIJ OLQOP 2
          Pei Tong 2
          Mayflower 3
          Unity 6
          Bukit View 7
          Yishun 7
          St Gabriel 8
          Greenwood 9

SC applicants outside 1km and PR may also want to check with school on tomorrow's take-up rate just in case....

Good Luck to all P2CS applicants. 😄

NB. St Marg 1 SC, the other 25 PR has no time to withdraw and register at another sch due to last min registration by SC.
Not too sure if there are any PR that did not withdraw from the other schools but the number should be negligible.

While I totally understand the strategy parents are taking to monitor and register at the last minute, this also causes tremendous stress to many other parents (like >1km SC and PRs) who aren't able to standby and withdraw in time. That said, my empathy goes out to many of the PRs and >1KM SCs with 30 mins left in closing of last day registration, what can they do but to watch in despair. St Marg year on year seems to have this as a major problem where parents just flock into SMPS last min, many schools this year are also facing this situation such as Qifa (based on what I know) where 1 sad PR has to end up without a seat due to ballot. As I was monitoring Qifa in 2C, there were still seats available to PRs until the very last hr ....

                  Marymount Convent 24 38(15SC within 2km, 23SC outside 2km)
                  CHIJ OQLOP 20 20
                  Canossa Convent 39 38 (25SC,13PR)

                  Name Vacancies Registered
Montford Junior 99 unknown but left with about 80 places
                  St Gabriel 18 16(2PR)
                  Total 117

                  Co-ed
                  Name Vacancies Registered
                  Bukit Timah 75 32
                  Stamford 72 15
                  Balestier Hill 131 13
                  Total 278 60

                  Summary
Marymount 14SC>2km should withdraw and go to other schools to avoid ballot.
Those SC>2km from CHIJ OQLOP should be at the school to monitor their chances. You would be booted out or going for ballot if someone stays within 2km turns up.
Canossa Convent can accomodate another 14SC.
St Gabriel can take in another 4SC.
Many places in Montford Junior, Bukit Timah, Stamford and Balestier Hill.

For SC, be rational and avoid ballot. If you are unlucky you will end up in P3. but you can per MOE website
\"Singapore Citizen (SC) / Singapore Permanent Resident (PR) children who are unsuccessful in obtaining a Primary One place in a school of their choice at the end of Phase 2C Supplementary should approach MOE to facilitate their placement to a school which still has vacancies.\"

Just came back from Marymount Convent. Saw another 5 set of parents applying for P1. Tried talking to the office, but they refused to let us know how many of the applicants are within 2 km… not helpful at all, esp if I know that all 24 places were already taken up by those within 2km, then at least the rest of us won;t waste our chance at other schools…

They should inform parents as much as possible so that changes can be made esp if need ballot. All the best to you!

Are you one of the applicants?

If you are, you should ask to see the principal or vice-principal to exercise your right to be given timely information.

You have to be firm and ask for the necessary info to make an informed decision.

Lodge a complain to MOE if necessary!
