      Dear all P1 mommies,

      welcome to Kellock,

amid the buying of school uniforms, shoes and arranging of bus transport,
there are few things to look out for
      1. if i remember correctly, there will be a small test for all P1 pupils on the first day. This should not be a problem as all attend Kindergarten schools, i suppose.

      2. you may need to prepare another $100 for mathematics materials. you get to pay on the spot and you don't get to get any thing back. The materials will be given out throughout the years as and when it is needed.

      3. Yes, there is no CCA for P1 except if you want your DD to attend extra activities, like Ballet ( Starts Term 2 every Tuesday for P1 ) or tap dance ( dunno when )

      hope it helps

      once again,
      welcome to Kellock

during the orientation, you will be given the P1 booklist.
you can get the books from popular. not sure if selling on O-day.

you can also buy the uniform there, i think.

the pinafore, and the blouse is sold by 1 vendor
the PE T-shirt and the inside blue shorts another vendor.

        hope it helps

                    Shawnlim88,

I think you misunderstood me. Streamystream asked if she could buy the textbooks now. So, I asked her if she already had the book list. Furthermore, I heard that there would be a change in the Maths syllabus next year. Maybe I didn't complete my sentence, that is, since there would be a change in the Maths syllabus next year, it would be a bit hasty of her to buy the textbooks now if she didn't have the book list.

I think it is better to wait for the school to issue the book list. If you need previous years' book list as a guide, I am sure parents with older children here will be able to send a copy to you.

However, like what I said, there will be a change to the P1 Maths syllabus. This has two implications: 1. the books may not be ready now; 2. You will not know which publisher, etc. CHIJ Kellock will use. Hence, safest is to wait for the school to distribute the book list officially.

Meanwhile, just let your girl enjoy her time. :celebrate:
