What would you like to know? My general feedback is that the teachers are caring (although sometimes crusty), and I like the school's emphasis on holistic development. There does not seem to be a lot of homework for DD who is in P4 this year, but there is a fair bit of project work which requires the children to work individually or in teams.

This being a girls school, you can expect the usual cattiness and cliquishness among students. But the school does not tolerate things like poison pen letters and hate notes, and will clamp down when it notices these things happening.

You can join the Parents Support Group. Parents in this group who can spare the time are *very* involved in all aspects of school life.

Thanks for the info.. Hopefully it won't be stressful for DD in P1. As for PSG, are you into it? Mayb I will find out once she is in school. I don't mind joining in.

Nope, I work full-time so have little time to do PSG activities...

                  Hi bubbles

Mummy Lynn & I just got in HG today, both our gals will start P1 next year. Actually HG is also nt my 1st choice, I did PV for kong hwa which is the only school nearest my place but decided to give it up.

I decided to try my luck after I went to the school open house, was very impressed & I really like the environment & their holistic teaching. As I'm out of 2km, I'm really stressed as this year applicants seem to be much more compare to past years. Did contemplate to withdraw & go to tanjong katong actually.

it's great to hear that your gal is enjoying school & learning well. So looking forward to the orientation day to show my gal around the school :rahrah:
Hi, my girl got in to HGS too πŸ˜ƒ Will be worrying for my son next. Didn't want to choose a co-ed school just because I don't have to worry in future, as I really like HGS. I'm thinking of enrolling my son in Kong Hwa next time but I fall slightly out of the 1km category (I'm 1.008km away!). So I'm also planning a back-up school. Do you know if TKPS is good?

                    Hi snowball2907
Congrats!! We are indeed in similar situation. Although we can confirm at tkps but i still decide to try my luck stay put in HG. I'm out of 2km so really stressful since the intake this year is so much more compare to past years.

Actually i'm not sure if tkps is good but i think its a normal decent school & moreover schools are limited in my area so kinda not much of a choice for me. I'm 1-2km for tkps so when its my boy's turn, really hope the take up rate wont be so overwhelming. But with the new ruling i think chances are still good. I actually wanted to do PV but was told they no longer take in so no choice have to try 2C.

I've heard good reviews so far, hopefully it's as good as it seems and that our girls will enjoy their 6 years there! Will monitor the take-up rate in the next few years for the schools i have in mind before deciding. Good luck to us both! πŸ™‚
