The school I used to work at would try to inform parents if they no chance to ballot.

But I remember last year during last 30 mins of registration, there were 3 or 4 last minute switched registration over and caused a need to ballot and some totally out of game. the parents affected though informed don’t even have enough time to react. How to rush down , withdraw and re-register all in 30min? The system really must fine tune these issues.

Maybe different school response differently becos during 2C, I called few times (Fairfield) to enquire the figures and breakdown, the staff was very helpful.

I think the admin staffs should be more sensitive and helpful to the parents even though we know that they have many calls to entertain but it’s just that one particular month during p1 registration not as if they will need to go thru this every month every day.

It’s understandable that parents are eager to know the figures.

I should say different school got different standard of staffs. I also supprise to see the way the staff in Pei Tong handle this situation. I also called New Town at the same time, the staff was more helpful.

FYI, they told us MOE server down on the 1st day morning (14/8) so they can't key in our particulars. They said they will call us after they register everything in the system but they never. Until now i don't have a copy of my application form.

Still got quite a few schools which require balloting for SC within 1 km. Stress for parents again.

This info comes in handy for PRs and foreigners with young children...
They will know where to move when their leases expire. 😉
