Yes, I can see that even though the drop in their result, it’s still a popular school in bukit batok. Which I have been telling myself that I have made the right choice for my kid. The child may be happy with the holistic approach and interesting cca, however, afraid that without certain academic focus, the child may feel slack in their studies.

Any idea when the school will move to fully single session? Will there be any expansion or upgrading work done to accommodate the switch to total single session?

I only know that they have onsite upgrading done during holidays. Not sure about the rest. Sorry.

Thanks Jedamum. Didn’t know they have a onsite upgrading during the holiday. So during the registration, what we seen is after the upgrading I assumed.


PEPS school hours seems to be different and longer than other primary schools. Why do they require the children to report to school so early? What will the kids be doing when they report at the school while lesson only start 1/2 hr later?

I also realized that the morning session ends pretty late at 1:20pm…won’t the kids feel hungry by the time they reach home for lunch at 2pm?

When can the kid sign up for CCA? During Orientation or after school reopen?

Hi, I am new to the thread. I would like to find out more about Princess Elizabeth Primary School. Parents with kids studying in PEPS, I would like to hear any good or bad comments about this school. I only understand that it is a popular school in Bukit Batok. Does it means it is a good school?

Hi XEK3,


PEPS's afternoon session school hour is earlier than most schools. Primary One students need to reach school at 1150 and the schools will end at 550pm. They do have CCA in term 2. Parents can signed up the CCA if you want.

If the kid reaches school early, they will be in the hall to do silent reading. My DS reaches school pretty early as he is on school bus. He will be in the hall doing his daily reading.

Orientiation will be in Nov/Dec. Can't really remember the dates. During the first 2 days of school, they allow parents to be in the school to ensure that the child is properly settled in. I think most school does that.

In terms of the standard of the school, I would think that they are comparable and I am referring to the test papers or assessment papers that are given to them. I do find that their English papers are pretty tough for P1. Chinese are easy as they are not on higher chinese. Maths papers are comparable with other schools as well. Not to worry so much.

Ultimately, i do think that a lot depends on the child in terms of getting good results. Parents will need to constantly encourage and be with the child during their learning journey in school.

PEPS Support group are for parents of the existing students. Sometimes they do need volunteer for different types of events that the school has.

Oh…from MOE website, I thought that PEPS offer Higher Chinese?

So your DS is taking the school bus? How is the operator of the school bus? Friendly and approachable? They empahsize on safety and discipline in the bus? The reason I asked is that on the road, I do see some of the primary school students stand and play in the school bus while the bus is on the move…I thought they are suppose to be on seat belt.

Yes, i do agree with you that it’s important that parents give constant encouragement to the kids and not solely depend on the school.

So far does your DS enjoy his school life with PEPS? How is homework load for P1 student? Any test? How often does the FT feedback to parents about the kid’s progression and well being?

I do look forward and hope that this is the right school for my kid.

they do have the buddy system for P1. I think it's only for a week or a few days. I can't remember. the buddy will bring P1 kids to toliet and how to buy food, where is the bookshop etc. The buddy is a a P2 kid.

PEPS only offer higher chinese in P5 or P4. I am not sure if they do it earlier but at least for P1 they don't. If your child is consistently strong is chinese, the teacher will offers her/him.

So far I don't have any issues with the school bus. I took the school bus with him during the first few days. the uncle is nice and he did ensure that the kids are on safety belt each time. my boy is pretty automatic, each time he is on the bus. he will put on his seat belt. my boy took the small van to school and big bus back home. I am not sure if the big bus has safety belt. there is always a auntie in the big bus. My boy did say that the auntie will scold them if they run about or make too much noise. I think when they are in lower primary is easy to manage. But when they goes to upper primary, I am not sure....

He is actually very happy in school. He does look forward to go to school. Workload is still managable. Some homework in a few days of the week and it's not everyday. There are tests during each term.

I had gone for one session of meet the parents. Usually, I emailed the teacher if I have any qns that I need to enquire. Teacher will call me if she encountered any issues with my son. I do feel that it's really depend on which teacher we get for that year. Teacher plays an important part. If we are lucky, we will get good one regardless of which school we are in.

Jamie999, Thanks…you have been very helpful. So your DS in P1 now? It’s good that he enjoys going to school. This is very important as this motivate the kid to learn in a happy environment.


Buddy system for a week…i wonder my kids can learn to be independent within a week or not.

PEPS’s niche is Character building. Any idea what the school does for Character Building?

So far I am still looking around for a good recommended student care for my DD. I have not seen any feedback about student care near PEPS. i hope they will move to single session soon.

Read from other thread that there was some IQ test given to P1 in some primary school. Does PEPS P1 student went thru this as well?
