I think besides the choice of CCA, it also depends on the sch. For example, if it is a niche CCA (that means the sch excels in this), they may ask for more practices/meetings per week. Some CCAs are more intensive. For example, usually a club may meet less frequently than a performing arts group. Also take into account that meeting infrequently now may not be the case forever as when competitions and performances draw near, practices and meetings may increase.

My gal will need to choose a CCA when she go P3 next yr. The CCA that she is interested in need to hv twice a week practise. I am worried with tuition and school homework, she might not be able to cope with it.

Any kids here hv twice a week CCA too? May I know what is your kids daily time table like?
        CCA 2x a week during non-competition periods.

          Hi

Any parents know is it a must that a P6 student to have CCA during P6 year?
If she quits CCA at P6, will there be any impact?

Will a student without CCA record affect the selection of secondary school?

NO. but it will affect your DSA, if u plan to apply

As for DSA, is it a must for the child be a CCA school team player, or in performance arts?

Having a CCA is good for the child. P6 is a very stressful year and CCA will offer the child an avenue to relieve stress. Besides, children do enjoy themselves during CCA.

Even if the child is not going through DSA, CCA in primary school will still be an important consideration for some CCA admissions in some secondary schools. Many secondary schools hold auditions for CCA (especially performing arts) before they admit the child, so it would be advantageous if the child has experience in the CCA during her primary school days.
