      dimension:

Ya likewise cannot register. Yours boy or girl? Our children may be classmates!

Mine is girl. What about yours?

      Hi dimension and mumof2angels,

My girl is also born in year of 2008. Have made an inquiry with the school on PV but they also advised that I apply again next year ~April as currently they do not accept early applications...

Seeing the heat this year, I'm really anxious....

      Sigh....

            1) best to have both parents present, it helps to orientate both abt the school. Plus help to cut queue times. πŸ˜‰

            2) during orientation day, able to purchase school books, uniforms. I didn't want to queue, so I went to purchase on another day. The various days will be stated on the booklist. You can even buy school shoes too if you want. Money for the items on the booklist is about $150. The bkshop aunty will
inform you of things that are not necc to buy from the bklist. She's very nice. There's a booth for donated school books, the books are not arranged by level, so you will have to dig through the box to find what you want. I can't remember exactly for the uniform becos depend on how many sets you wish to buy. The socks is $1.50 per pair. I guess $60 for the uniforms should be ok.

            3) yes, there will be a booth to register for after school care. Not sure if need to make any payment becos i dont use the service. The contact is 6297 6377.

            4) if remembered correctly, the talk end at about 1230pm or so. But you might leave the school later depending how fast you are able to complete your tasks. So best to prepare some snacks for the kids and have a heavy brekkie. After the talk, will need to submit some forms which are handed out on the day and need to queue to complete some admin work. Not sure if the school will have any changes to this or same as last yr. The admin stuff includes handing in forms, money for name tags and 2 wks of catered food during recess if remembered correctly. You will queue according to your kid's class. The amt of money to bring will be indicated in the orientation package that will be mailed to you.

            5) the kids will be with their form teachers and classmates, they will be taken on a tour of the school plus they will do some colouring in class. The kids will return to the parents at the end of the talk.

            6) there was a CCA exhibition last yr too

            7) you can also sign up for school bus service on the same day. I'm not sure if need to pay on the spot becos I don't use the service.

            Welcome to hong wen family.

During my time, it was 1 yr earlier, before 30 Jun, of your child's P1 registration. I registered P1 in 2011 for 2012 intake. I submitted PV application in 2010 before 30 June. I'm not sure if there are any changes. So best to contact the school.

I've mixed up the timing becos I attended my dd1's kindy graduation in the morning. So the talk for P1 would have ended later. So best to chk the orientation package.

                    1) Not sure about the queue time, becos I bought the books and uniform on another day. I didn't use the after school and bus service so didn't queue there too.

                    5) THe class will be stated in the orientation package that the school will mail to you.

During the talk, there will be admn stuff like amt of money to bring to school for recess, after the catered food period is over, pick-up and drop-off point, ect. So keep a ear out for these. IF you want your child to join CCA in P1, spend some time at the CCA exhibition to ask qn, if you have the time to spare and if the exhibition is stiill on this yr.

There's no requirement to join PSG. There was a PSG booth last yr and a form was given out during the talk for parents to indicate if they wish to join.

                    Enjoy the P1 journey πŸ˜„

oh. btw, the class that the child goes to is NOT his actual class in P1 (this is from 2 years ago). There was subsequent reshuffling and this will be sent after the event.

Last yr, for dd1 she stayed in the same class. We were not notified that her class was changed. The class lists were pasted on the MPH for all parents to chk. Even dd1’s index number remains the same. The classroom used during P1 orientation was different from the actual classroom when term started though

Maybe different arrangement bah. So important to be alert P1 parents 2013.
