I think I will quit , and probably do it at a lot earlier stage such as Grade 5 or Grade 3

The teacher said because she don't own a grand piano for home practise, ( due to space constraints) that's why fingers can't produce the require tone. All others students already own a grand piano. Does it make any difference? :scratchhead:

Omg! I just cannot believe everyone has grand! That is not reasonable !

A Steinway and sons upright costs 70k

3 options to place the grand piano
1 - get rid of the dinning table, place the piano there. Sit on floor picnic at home ???
2 - get rid of king size bed, place the piano in the master room. At night sleep on the piano !!!!
3 - sell the house and move to a bigger place.. :moneyflies: money not enough $$$$ -
Even I can afford it for choice no. 3, I doubt if it is worth doing that . After all piano is just a hobby, very few of our kids will make it as life career

I think this price is for grand piano even for brand of steinway. For yamaha c3 grand piano, price is less than 40k. -

I think that's precisely the point. If the teacher is talking about developing Puzzle's DD as a performing pianist, someone who performs on the piano for a career, then yes I can understand the need for a grand piano at home. But if it's just a hobby, then, a bit excessive.
I cannot believe that EVERY student at NAFA at diploma level owns a grand.
