sigh... yes straffan. the same maid. i tolerated. anyways.. i jus got to kno tt shes only 23 instead of 29yrs old!!! i wonder how can they lie abt their age n its stated in their passport! is it the works ther in indonesia? sigh

23 instead of 29 is not too bad.
In most cases they are ~17 passing off as 23 or 24.
And I've heard of 50+ passing off as ~40

My sis told me in M'sia, it's worse ....

Hi all


I have a filipino maid for 2 yrs 2mth . I am working part time and she cannot get along with my mum . I always got to be the middle man . During the June holidays , my children were watching VCd in mum room( share with maid) . That was only 9.30 pm . My kids agree to come out at 10 . So I let them . My maid went in and off the lights , my mum was furious although told her cannot off the light . She threw her taumum .


She question me bk y they can’t watch in the living room, I explained to her very troublesome to rewind bk . And usually during non Sch day she can wake up at 7.


I was very upset .i couldn’t sleep for few days . My hubby was out station then .
She sometimes give me black face but recently I talk to her and agree to give her off days .her blackface gone. However I had short listed one maid. I don’t know good or not .I got to go bk to work full time and need to work shift .

Now she is better , but shall I proceed to change or let her stay ?

Hi panickymum… looks like u renewed her contract. hmmm… go for the change. its cubbersome… to go tru the training n all with the new one but lesser problem. m still sourcing for one to replace my maid but shes been doing well since i gave her a piece of my mind

Panickymum: The VCD incident you mentioned - I think your maid was really out of line, rude, and unacceptable. She should not even begin to question or dare to question why you cannot watch it in the living room. At most, she can ask what time will they stop? I would not have tolerated this kind of behaviour/manners - I would have told her, on the spot, to come sit at the dining table - face to face - and tell her off firmly. This is basic mutual respect - any member of the household doing this to another, it is downright rude.


I wouldn’t have describe it as "cannot get along with my mom". It is just your good luck that you do not need to be with her 24/7. The way she has reacted over the VCD incident - I would have warned her and put her back firmly at her place, and let her know that if similar things happened, she will have to pack her bags.

But then again, you just renewed her? Maybe she is not happy with some aspects of pay or off-days? Maybe she is trying to show you something?

Thanks she beautiful , glad to hear from you . I'm just worry to get someone worse than her . I have never send maid home before , how long notice must I give her and what excuses shall I tell her so that she doesn't mess up my household

Yes you are right ! She is not happy of no day off . But I told her before renewing the contract . She agreed ! Now complaining ! Now I need to tell her what to do except those routine cleaning and cooking
She is just a little girl , after showing her temper , she ok for a few days . That makes me feel very sad and insecure to go to work .

I read abt maid buying laptops etc.... And bad things..... She is still ok , only give her hp on weekend ( cos my last maid hide in the toliet and talk all days , bring bf along when fetching my p3 daughter from Sch)

I am very scare of changing for the worst

Sure! I felt much better now ! My dd having PSLE soon and hubby not ard ! Do not know what to do ! Glad that there are KS parents to pour all my worries .
