Me and my maid tale…maid went back for Hari Raya and she got to do the KTKLN card. On the day she reach the airport back home she went to the office to do and found out that she needed the employment contract to do which we did not give her (thought only the work permit will do).
Called me and told me I must go embassy to get the contract for her and send to her else she won’t be able to do the KTKLN card. And happened that the office will also be closed for Hari Raya for one week she got to go home (4 hours away) and in one week’s time will travel back to the town office (4 hours back) to do the card!
So I drama rushed down to the embassy to do the contract. Long life that was the last day before embassy closed for Hari Raya too! Good thing the embassy was able to give me the contract on the spot. Next, how to get the contract to maid? Poor maid got no internet connections and she got to go to the market (one hour away) to one of the many internet shop and borrow their email so that I can send to her. Thank God she got it and printed it.
Next, one week later, she traveled back to town KTKLN office to do the card. SMSed me not enough money as she need to book the driver and car to go back to town (about SGD100 for 2-way) to and fro will take whole day. So I rushed down to BNI and send her money into her account. She traveled back to town and found about 500 people waiting to do the card!!! Started queuing at 3 am and later on at about 10 am told me she needed to buy insurance there before they can do the card. Finally at about 12 noon told me she finally got the card. Phew!
What an eventful home-leave. But alls well that ends well. Tom. she will be coming back! -
tis ruling is sooooo unnecessary! hmph!!! a waste of time! maid bugging me for a week leave if so cz three days to go home n come bk is not enuf!

Surprising NO! I don't have to pay for the contract at the embassy. The staff was very helpful and on that day it seems there were about 6 people with similar situation as me. Just updated couple of terms on the contract since I got the old one and the staff got it endorsed for me that's it. Gave me 2 originals. -
Wa!! Shebeautiful, the app is very interesting and really help me find the cheapest ticket in a flash. Thanks for the recommendation!!! Found a ticket at $95 all in leaving next Tuesday.
