All About Maid's passport renewal

The Indonesian embassy website stated that processing time for Indo foreign workers is 3 working days.


Does it mean that if we submit on Monday, can only collect on Friday?

I just did my Indonesian Maid PP renewal yday, it took me about 1.5hrs, I was lucky that the interview went well, i told him i'm giving her an increase to S$450 from S$ 340 with no off days, he didnt even persuade me to give her off days as i read online that they will persuade the employers to give them off days.

Please photocopy all docs before hand as they charged at S$ 0.50/pc. And for the photos, my maid has some balance of the photos she took and when i asked the photo shop cashier from the embassy, they said cannot therefore she re-took however it turned out that her photos she had was much clearer and nicer.

My maid just started work with me for few months but her passport is going to expiry in May 2013. When i took her, the agent did not inform me about her passport validity. What is the interview at embassy about?

Minnie: If your maid’s passport expires in May2013, it means her WP expires in Apr2013. So, you will need to do all these (if renewing her contract):

1. Renew passport @ Embassy
2. Sign contract @ Embassy
3. Renew WP (online or through agent)

1 & 2 to be done together. I hope your maid would’ve serve a full 2-year by the Apr 2013. Else, you lose out because you would’ve made all payments for 2yrs, e.g. insurance.

As for insurance, my agent purchased for 26months as she overlooked my maid passport validity.

no need. any family member with the same household address can collect on behalf. but ensure that the NRIC address is the same as the maid registered address. remember to bring the contract and the proof of payment slip.
