I believe my friend had wanted IB programe for her son, I did not ask her though. He was entered by sport.
I know that this year for those who got selected for DSA, some were offered O level admissions while some others to IB. Looks like they are tweaking the process as each year passes ... -
From what I understand, those who made it via DSA into the IB programme only need to score 200 to retain that position. My son got a few points below last year’s cut-off, but because his DSA came through, he is still in the IB programme. It depends on what you selected as first preference during the Secondary school options in your DSA form.

Just wondering how a third language helps if you’re already in the Integrated Programme, and also whether it works the same way for IB - any ACSI IB kids out there who know what to do for Third Language option? Appreciate any feedback - Thanks…

The cutoff point for IB program varies from year to year, I believe it was 257 last year. However, if your son was offered IB through DSA, then there is no need to meet the IB cutoff point, just 200.
There is another point of entry into IB at end of Sec 2, offered only to those studying in ACS(I) express. Consistent results in year 1 and 2, plus interviews to get through.
There is also ‘down-grading’ from IB to Express at the end of year 1, 2 and 3. So, IB students must continue to prove their worth. -

My son is not taking 3rd language, so can't help you here. I believe you could choose your 3rd language, just the same way as the rest.
Besides 3rd language, there is also another program called Regional Studies Program (RSP) offered to Singaporean students. The selected students will study Malay and the cultures of our neighbouring countries. Parents of IB students will be invited to a briefing at the beginning of the year. -

Can anyone share the CCA schedule of the school, not all listed in the web.
It's hard to share the CCA schedule, as there are too many CCAs. Generally, the sports CCA meets 3 to 4 times a week. The clubs/socities once a week. The uniform groups on Fridays, except BB which meets on Saturdays.
Every student has to offer 2 CCAs - 1 UYO and 1 sports/clubs/societies. -

Hi kirakira,
HI did your friend's son go in via sports or cca? does it mean that if you were offered DSA via academics and you didn't meet the COP for IB, you will have to do 'O's?luckystar:
My friend's son is in ACSi sec 2 next year, he was dsa, psle 254 no IB for him, if I not forgot what he told me, 257 at least to get to IB.
Hope this can help.
Harini.. my son 255, we are in exactly the same headache!! Cos will only make the distance to acsi if he can do IB. Otherwise, it might be wiser to go to a good 'O' school.
Just read on another thread that the COP to IB may have been 256 last year. So there is still hope, but not very sure ... What have u decided ?? -

Maybe the COP was 256 after the posting and when some kids left to other schools.
I like SJI too, but its very far from home, ACS(I) is very close. I m most probably going with my gut feel and putting ACS(I) down as first choice. I think when u appeal to a school, putting them as 1st choice is important. Good luck to u - hope u choose the right school for ur kid :celebrate: ... -
Heard the feeder school kids who are posted to ACS(I) report to school on 22nd Dec.
Could some of the parents please update the COP for IB, if they know it on 22nd. It would surely help the non-feeder school students to decide if they need to prepare for appealing to other schools. Thanks …
