Compare RGS vs NYGH
-
Due to affliation which allow their own primary schools to enter at lower aggregrate. Hence personally I concluded that RGS and RI are up to higher standard.
Nanyang or HCI are run by pool of chinese businessmen. In businessman’s world," I buy your product, you buy my product" , everything OK liao. -

I think you made a very sweeping & unfair statementDue to affliation which allow their own primary schools to enter at lower aggregrate. Hence personally I concluded that RGS and RI are up to higher standard.

and what kind of standard are you talking about ? -

Affiliation is affiliation, they have to honour it since they have set the rules, nothing about businessmen tactics.Due to affliation which allow their own primary schools to enter at lower aggregrate. Hence personally I concluded that RGS and RI are up to higher standard.

RI has no one to offer affiliation to even if they want. I believe RGS consciously does not want to offer affiliation, as for the reason, must ask the P. -
ksi:
both RI and RGS are government schools, naturally no affiliation

perhaps next time RI sets up a primary school section....and RGPS was not set up by RGSS -

So are u implying that PSLE scores are unimportant, not a crucial deciding factor.....
Nanyang or HCI are run by pool of chinese businessmen. In businessman's world,\" I buy your product, you buy my product\" , everything OK liao.
So long some form of pull string will get u in ??
This statement is not doing justice to those PSLE pupils who Indeed have worked hard
and gain entries into NYGH and HCI..... -

But still I think there is nothing to stop them to apply to MOE for affiliation if they can find the right rationale to do it. -
all the affiliation are from those who are / were established as full schools previously / or still are
the clans / church has the foresight & wisdom to see that full school / through train has its merits, hence the full schools from pri 1 to pre-u, notably all the mission schools, NY, SCGS etc -
verykiasu2010:
of course I know but I wanted to hear from 'star11' how much lower when he/she said 'even lower'
Heard from church friends that the girls from NYPS can enter NYGH with 12 points discount from its cut-off point. Applies to all NYPS girls - mainstream or GEP.Picolo:

how much lower ?
You dunno :nailbite:
in comparison with other feeder/affiliated schools, NYGH's \"lower\" requirement for NYPS girls is only marginally lower when compared the difference between the COP and the affiliated students' t-score of other schools, some as vast as 20 to 30 points, (think SCGS, MGS, ACS, SMSS, St Nick, etc). 250 is not exactly very low[/quote]He cant possibly dunno abt NYPS.......
Yup, the COP difference between affliated and non- affliated students for NYGH
is only marginally lower as compared to other affliated schs. -

Well......it certainly does not mean that parents not active in postings or sharing in this forum,
I meant \"in that sense\". Having KS parents, it's not necessarily bad thing, as long as parents know when to draw a line. There seems a correlation between how KS the parents are and how well the child perform in school. :roll:Augmum:
U mean more kaisu = better ?? :scratchhead:
It seems to me RGS's parents are more involved in their dd's school than those of NYGH's.
Hope that will prompt more NYGH parents to share :boogie: .
means that they are not inolved in their kid' studies.
Take for example in DHS thread,
i personally know of DHS's parents who are very concern and involve in their kids' studies and activities,
But this thread does not seem to have many active participants of parents....
Several reasons for it.......
Some are FTWM who do not have the spare time to chitchat here,
Some are not comfortable in openly sharing while some have no interest in posting in forums,
And def there are some who arent aware of this thread/ forum ...... -

Err... since my dd may be going to NYGH, what product have we bought??

Quite an unfair statement rather unfounded ! :stompfeet: :stompfeet:
