Welcome back autolycus. Thank you for very helpful advise and information provided.
I have one question on behalf of a relative’s son who studies in ACS Barker, What is chance for a student to admit into ACSI(IB) in year 5 by "O" level? what is COP?
Thank you so much! -
ruohoo97: if you have a 6-point aggregate at O-levels, then you will possibly meet the COP (cut-off point); ACS(I) is very competitive, but still not as competitive as HCI and RI.
Cheers! -

It's just my observation from my friends. Some of my friends who got L1R5 3 net couldn't get into RI or HCI, but they got into ACSI. I also have friends in ACSI who have L1R5 4 net. Which is why I said it's easier to get in, COP wise.
You mean ACJC rather ? or ACSI 5th year? Or are they actually the same? -
ACSI. ACJC COP is 6 net this year.

Are they wearing the same uniform n located at the same campus? ACJC is For A level right? -
Zann: No, they wear different uniforms; ACS(I) is on Dover Road and ACJC is at Dover Close East. ACJC is an ‘A’-Level institution and ACS(I) has the IB Diploma as its terminal qualification.

:imanisland: Hi Autolycus - glad to see you back in this thread.
Sorry if these are repeat questions from past pages:
- roughly how many ACSI IP boys will drop out of IP program by Year 2 to O level track per year for past few years?
- In your view, is there any general profile of such boys eg not strong in English or analytical skills etc?
- Would these boys find it tough to adjust to O level track at Year 3?
- Are ACSI IB graduates mostly in humanities courses at university eg Law, Political Science, Liberal Arts?
Thanks :salute: -
Snow Crystal: hi, am glad to be back too!
1. Very few drop out; fewer than 5 each batch, generally.
2. The most common reason is general weakness — poor academic performance, most often caused by habitual slackness which isn’t rectified in time.
3. They don’t have difficulties adjusting at all, since the O-level track is more concrete to most of them.
4. Heh, a lot of them are in Medicine; some are in things like Aerospace Engineering or Computing/Computer Science. A lot end up in the black arts — business, economics, finance, accountancy. They span a varied range, all the way from hardcore science to fullblown aesthetics or humanities. -

Is the COP same for ACSI and ACJC? I would expect ACSI is higher than ACJC :? except ACJC does have bonus point for affiliated school. -
The nett COP for ACJC (that is, after all bonus points are used) is 6.
The nett COP for ACS(I) is around 4 these days.
